I wonder if this is the same man that robbed someone outside on Regency St a few wks ago?
In my opinion he got what he deserved! The kids with the Dudley issue caused between $750,000 and $1.25 million. Weren't they sent to TYC? Well they will be out on their 19th b-day. If they are sent to TCJD it is due to their behavior while in TYC.
I think there is an after school program at Torres. It is called Extended Day. Mrs. Gorsuch is an amazing women! My son has been under her leadership for many years & I couldn't be more happy!
I think this is a great idea but there is no way that the juvenile delinquents that run the streets of Victoria will keep this place nice. If you have walked the new walking trail then you have seen the graffiti. It is really sad. Victoria has too many parent's that do not control their children or teach them how to respect other peoples property. I wish I didn't sound so negative but I am sure in a years time something will happen concerning the water park. There are too many parent's that let their kids run the streets at all hours of the night. These are the parent's that have no control over their kids. Those are the kids that burglarize homes & buisness. It's sad to say those same kids will be the ones to break into the water park, vandalize it & destroy it. This isn't fair to the kids in our community that are deserving of this.
The Calhoun County Jail staff should have done a medical evaluation on this young man. If he was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana THEN THAT MEANS THERE WAS REASON TO BELIEVE HE WAS SMOKING IT. I thought when a offender is detained the facility he/she is taken to is required to do a medical screening during the intake process. At that time the person that was responsible for the intake should have referred this young man to medical for medical clearance. The nurse working should have placed him in a detoxification cell. THE TX COMMISSION ON JAIL STANDARDS STATES "INMATES CONFINED IN A HOLDING CELL OR DETOXIFICATION CELL SHALL BE OBSERVED BY FACILITY PERSONNEL AT INTERVALS NOT TO EXCEED 30 MINUTES". So was he put in a detoxification cell? If not, why wasn't he put in a detoxification cell? If he was placed in one, was he being properly observed? These are all questions and concerns the family should address with the Calhoun County Jail. I would also contact the Texas Attorney Generals Office & file a civil complaint against the county jail. Seems Calhoun County Jail staff was not following guideline or ethics!
