Report a Violation
"Dear Jeremy Bludau, I am just an old drummer looking for a studio gig. I have a couple songs that I recorded live to show my abilities. The link is http://www.myspace.com/georgebillyfriends The recording sucks but you can still hear the drums well. All I did was place a mic over stage left and one over stage right and did the recording levels as I was playing. I did point the amps at the mic's but the vocals are a little low due to the singer blocking the speaker from the mic's. This show was a freelance gig that was adlibed. I met the band as I was going on stage for the first set. This is the first time I had played drums in 8 years 4 months. I had not even picked up a pair of drum sticks in that time. Hope you can hear through the rust. When I adlib a song I try to play what the song is asking me to play. That may sound strange but that is how I play. I put fills where they belong and just carry the beat at other times. I have been playing drums since 1969 off and on again. I played from Texas to Alaska, been on the road a few times and glad I am not on the road now! If you ever find yourself without a drummer for a session just call me and I will be there and do my best. I do have a Yamaha DTExplorer electronic drum kit 2009 model. I just love the portability of this kit. I have some PA equipment but not enough for a gig. If you need help with one of your drum kits like tuning or refurbishing/cleaning just call me. FYI - for the best cymbal polish use Happich Semi-Chrome polish. It cleans better than off the shelf cleaners and it leaves a thin film on the metal that keeps the finger oils from turning it green! The shine is fantastic. I do have a son that is 17 and plays guitar. He is very good compared to some of the pros I have seen around here. He plays Buckethead songs. That is his idol. Lee can play them note for note. I would like for you to hear him play. You would be impressed also. Thank you for your time in this matter. I would love a tour of your studios. You can reach me at 361-572-9793 or familyman1122@yahoo.com Sincerely, Tom Overby "
