Job well done this I believe was the game of the season.it was great to see how the community filled the seat to support our viper boys.coach said in his article of ramirez how dependable he was and last night he had a great game. His performace was on last night. The tackle of the season is a good way to put it. His speed also is good to see. He also is the ball holder and did good on a bad snap. Edwards and turner also did very well.keep the fire and heart going. Go vipers playoff hear we come.
I would like to say good job Niko and finally I hear about this kid.I believe that this kid is not a first time starter I think he started last year in many games. The newspaper as I recall had a big insert on the viper team and starters and he was one of them Can somebody confirm? This kid is a hussler and I agree with the coach is very dependable. I have been to most of the games and you hear is this kids name along with Jared all through the night. He must be a good player to play both ways and to make great plays on offense and defense.Hope he will continue to play at Texas State. And I would hope that Coaches will help each great player achieve a college scholarship when these kids express playing collge football.Sounds like Mexi might not know these players or the viper team and should not respond if he/she doesnt know and maybe advocate could do a little research on this. For people like mexirican1423.
Well its good to see an apology.I would like to say that the Immaturity of these coaches doesnt surprise me with the things they say and do.Its not just coach Pauley but also Newmyer the jv coach.A lesson should be taught to both about how a coach can loose the respect of a player.I do believe that a player or players have been affected by such comments from thier coaches and as our children if that child is hurt by it and needs someone to talk to why not be the parent. Instead of a teammate.so the "what said by a coach should be kept within the player and coach comment is CRAP.On to the next topic. I have stated before, is where a player should be place JV or Varsity. We all know that comments from the coach were made on not having a set spot, well i think thats crap too now.here are girls who produce while on the court and are consitant whether good or bad. Again some seniors level of play are just not there like some of the juniors and for that reason Keirra was pick by Coach Pauley from the beginning to be a varsity player, because she is GOOD. So maybe when you went to a game and didnt see kierra play it was from injury or what I think is Coach not playing the girls who produce on the Court during a game. Don't go by PRACTICE and warmup before game because a girl can look very impressive but during a game it a whole different field. So maybe thats the reason you didn't see her play but Kierra is a darn good player and deserving. But the problem is the choice of where the girls are placed and she left behind to great assets to her Varsity team Kelly and Celeste. I can say this with confidence the girls i see playing and taking memorial to state are Kiara, Tabby,Kierra,Lani ,Biannca,Angela,Jessica,Celeste,Brook, and Kaitlin These are My choice these girls should all be Starting and the others should be 3rd string subs.I have seen these girls play and they are very consistant when they play together and they all should be able to play anywhere and learn it and excel. But again My thoughts and my choice you dont have to agree but I think when you actually come out and see a game you"ll understand
I meant to put the underclassman in gerneral mainly juniors on this team with one sophmore in that group of underclassman.
It seems that the girls may finally be clicking with each other somewhat.I would like to note that some of the senoirs on this team are struggling with performance versus the sophmores girls, when Pauley sees the level of gain she gets when the underclassman are on the court. She stated in the begining that no one had a set spot or that cause a girl is a senoir she will play ,I question that because she has a state winning team with her underclassman and also her pick of girls in the beginning for varsity spots. There are two girls on J.V. right now that can be great assests to the varsity team. And just being around volleyball for so many years we ALL KNOW WHO THEY ARE.keep striving to be the best Vipers girls stay strong
I agree jared did really good and played hard. That was a great decision on coaches for moving the team around and fixing what was not working.Great job to the boys.I would like to know who this number 2 is he play hard and played both ways.Niko Ramirez is his name and along with Jared his named was heard all through out the game.
i have to agree with momof2 with her statements.I am a mother of a player and have spoken with many parents and players about this investigation and how the volleyball program was run. Many decisions made by Mrs.Gomez were very clear as to where her mind was at. Many of us could clearly see how her decisions were base on where the girls played during club season. Her choice of club was pushed on the girls and then she brought the girls down by making hurtful comments to them when the club of her choice was not chosen by the players. Many players were place on JV and Varisty not by there abilities and advancement compared to other players but by where they played club ball and by the parents who showed the coach who would be a best friend. many parents, coaches from middle schools, and club league coaches question her placement of these girls. When a coach makes a choice base on the players abilities you can have a state winning team. When the choice is based on friendship and where you play this is what you get.TROUBLE. I think that this is a good Good choice that was made and great timing. When a coach scouts out players and see the level that a player is at then you can have a great team giving memorial A state title. Clearly that did not happen many girls were move not according to abilities but for reason of pride on Mrs.Gomez. Many comments were made to the girls on the rival coach of a club league and therefore many of the girls did not get moved or played based on performance.I believe the viper volleyball program has a state winning team right now if the new coach and also the coaches still there will reevaluate the placement of the girls. We as parents and coaches mainly the middle school coaches can see that these girls who have played for them and know there abilities would see the mistakes that Mrs.Gomez made. A persons word speak tremendous but not to follow what you say can hurt a player. There is one player that we all know of that was lied to and strip from certian things due to Mrs.Gomez. She has the desire and through the help of players, coaches(middle school)and club coaches have help her keep the desire to play alive.Mrs Gomez hurt this player and brought her spirits down but didnt keep her down. Many were told not to try out cause they didnt have it and just to give up i could see that if these girls did not play with heart and desire but to discourage because which club league they played for. Many may want to comment on this but if you dont directly interact with the volleyball program and have a realationship with the players then it really doesnt matter only the ones within the program should comment.
I must clarify, something on my no drive comment.Seems like when the team gets hit with penalties and such that they may loose focus and may take time to get back up to where they started. That is what I mean. And that is where the mental part of the game comes in.The boys play hard and give it there all and they just need to be able to regroup faster and refocused when hit hard.Just like Emmitt Smith Yards after contact. No matter how hard he got hit he rolled and still gained yards. I believe that praise is givin and we all believe in our boys and sometimes pointing out the weakness properly can help a team grow from the mistakes. The community can be coaches also in helping our players with keeping good moral. Every department can improve in all areas in helping the football team. Cheerleaders, band, color gaurd,Parents and students.Because really that is why we are there to support the football team.
Good job on last nights game. The defense WOW had an awesome game.I must agree the first half was very good the second half was like there was no drive.Still alot of work to be done and coming from years past record we all must be patient and let the change in the football program imprint in the team.I can see the change in how our boys are a team and there is more of a brotherhood than division and thats where it starts. Each time you get over the dreaded HILL, look at it as a team you will beat this season. Good Job
