Doesnt mean he is guilty---just means he knew he had nothing to back up his innocence. I am not even saying he is innocent. I am simply saying...if YOU do not know what happened FIRST HAND, then you should not be making accusations.
I am not even going to touch your other ridiculous statement.
I do not know the details of this case, so I can not comment on specifics. BUT what I can tell you is I personally knew this mans family. I knew them as honorable, caring, compassionate individuals and I would have never thought that he nor anyone in his family would do something like this. Call me niave--maybe--but what I am trying to say is if you do not know PERSONALLY--FIRST HAND what happened, please do NOT be bashing this man. Afterall, NONE of us were there to know what TRULY happened. And it does not mean that he is guilty just because he pleaded guilty---maybe he knew he didnt have a way to prove his innocence so he didnt want to drag his family nor himself through the turmoil of having a trial spread throughout the media. Please, before you decide to put your 2 cents in, keep your rude comments to yourself and pray for his man and his family. IF, in fact this man is guilty, he will have to answer to the ultimate Judge one day, as we all will. It is not up to the public to judge this man, especially if we do not know what the FACTS are of this case. Even if the facts make a compelling case, you never know what the TRUE motives of "calling him out" were...or even IF he did it. I just pray that Refugio can rebuild its police for the safety of its people. I also pray for this family as I can imagine this is not an easy thing to go through. Again, please keep your rude comments to yourself. They are not needed.
After many request from PO for this young man to drop his weapon, he refused. At his age he clearly knew what consequences were of bringing a weapon to school...even if it is a fake one, the PO had no way of knowing this and he should have complied to the PO demands to drop the gun. There was no safe way to evacuate the school with an armed gunman in the hall ways of the school. It is unfortunate that this young man died and my prayers go out to the family. This just goes to prove the reasons why parents should be more involved in their children's life and KNOW what they are doing. Also, they should teach them right from wrong. I would hope that if something like this happened at my children's school that the PO would respond in the same way. The job of the PO is to protect innocent lives and clearly they did what they had to do to protect the other children and employee of the school. My prayers go out to the family of this young man, students/faculty who had to witness this horrible event, as well as the PO involved in this incident--clearly this is not going to be an easy thing to deal with for any of them. It is sad that people feel the need to bring guns and weapons to school now days to "deal with their problems".
Bravo Victoria Fire Department for most spirited float! I have to say that their float was by far the best! When I saw the firefighter kneeling at the back of the float in front of the nativity scene it truly brought tears to my eyes. I am truly impressed with the new chief allowing such a float! Also, the pink fire truck looked beautiful with all of the pink lights. Way to go firefighters!!
@beakus--the answer is simple! You never know what kind of call you are going on until you get there. Conditions on scene can change quickly.
If you are questioning things like a car accident and the passengers are needing an ambulance--there is more to car accidents than just needing ambulance assistance 1) the car's damage might have trapped someone in a vehicle and they need to be cut out (the ambulance doesnt house all of those big tools--they are on a fire truck) 2) if someone needs pulled out of a vehicle it often requires more than 2 individuals that are on an ambulance to pull them out. 3) almost everyone on the fire truck rotate on an ambulance as well--if there is more than one patient--then someone on the fire truck can go ahead and work on the other patient while waiting on transport 4) the ambulance tansports the patient but the firetruck stays to clean up the wreck 5) if the car ignites-the firetruck is already on scene--ETC ETC
If you are referring to a *only* a medical call--such as someone having a heart attack, seizure, etc...it can take more than the 2 people that are on an ambulance to assess the scene and load the patient. On an ambulance there is usually only 1 EMT-Basic and 1 paramedic...the basic would drive the medic to the hospital and the paramedic would be in the back helping the patient---sometimes the paramedic might need assistance in the back of the ambulance so someone from the firetruck will jump on the ambulance and proceed to the hospital to assist with the call.
If an ambulance shows up on scene alone and needs back up then they have to wait on a firetruck to assist--its easier to dispatch both units and call off the firetruck if assistance is not needed...then to wait on back-up in life threatening situations. Also, when paramedics are dispatched out--they never know what they are going to roll up on until they get there. Even if the call may not be *that bad* the condition *could* change on the way to the call which would require assistance--then again, it will be delayed if they both aren't dispatched.
Seriously, this story brought tears to my eyes! I truly wish they would have had something like this when my sister was alive! It is hard to understand the joy this would bring to someone with a disability, until you are BLESSED to have a disabled family member. Though my sister could talk and for periods of time couldn't walk...my sister was a great inspiration to me. This story is a great inspiration! Bravo young people for putting this together! These special needs individuals love to interact and have fun with peers, just like any other young person at a "normal" prom!!
Rest In Peace LCpl. Matthew Holloway and Sgt. Garret McLead. You have not been forgotten. "some gave all". Love yall
@lamppost--don't kid yourself, they knew who posted on the bulletin board or at least they can figure it out...just with any work environment, the boss knows which employees are the "pranksters" and would do something like this...and who wouldnt do it...IMO
@scarlet-- her post said "he may have more benefits"..impliying that COV firefighters have good benefits...when in fact, that is the furtherest thing from the truth...'nuff said
EMS30---Benefits?? HA! Benefits with the COV is HORRIBLE! My hubby had better pay AND better benefits working at his previous job! He is a paid firefighter as well...let me inform everyone...he doesn't get paid that much...and hes not a rookie either! I dont know where your hubby works but obviously its not with the COV if you consider his benefits as "good"...I dont consider the deductible "good" by any means!
