I agree with woofwoof, lets do something with Riverside park. A riverwalk would be great,,a waterpark? what a freakin lame idea. We had a water park and a gocart park,,and they both didnt last,,and they Sure didnt help the city. Lets THINK here Victorians. Been to S.A.? its beautiful. We have a park,,lets just Do something with it... As it is now,,its just mainly used for Golfers,,Not everyone likes to chase little balls around. A Riverwalk,,Great Idea woofwoof!!! OH,,and about the Zoo being flooded in the past?....Problem for this is the river is Not kept clean and free of debris,,such as Log jams,,Downstream....Take a trip downstream in a kayak,,You'll see..

Ok John, you say that I'm being taken in by this,"So Called Instilled Fear" . Far from it John. I Do take things seriously and try to gain undertsanding about All that is going on in this world. This is what I have learned about the H1N1 virus. Take it as a joke if you'd like..In contrast with run-of-the-mill seasonal flu viruses, the H1N1virus exhibits an ability to infect cells deep in the lungs, where it can cause pneumonia and, in severe cases, death. Seasonal viruses typically infect only cells in the upper respiratory system.
"There is a misunderstanding about this virus," There is clear evidence the virus is different than seasonal influenza."
The ability to infect the lungs, is a quality frighteningly similar to those of other pandemic viruses, notably the 1918 virus, which killed tens of millions of people at the tail end of World War I. There are likely other similarities to the 1918 virus, and as study show, people born before 1918 harbor antibodies that protect against the new H1N1 virus.
And it is possible, that the virus could become even more pathogenic as the current pandemic runs its course and the virus evolves to acquire new features.
It has been found that the H1N1 virus replicates much more efficiently in the respiratory system than seasonal flu and causes severe lesions in the lungs similar to those caused by other more virulent types of pandemic flu.
NO I see No Need For Lots of Laughs.

I do believe this building is where the CPS is located, correct? A good place for them to relocate would be at the county dump site. They're nothing but a legal kidnapping service. And I must say WOW!,,now OLV will be HUGE , someone must be putting alot of money into the offering plate.

Just wonder how many fender benders theres gonna be...I do hope that everyone's careful out there. And your right VB,,,Ball Airport road is very narrow,,and also Mallete is also narrow, and I'm sure it will be used also. Then the intersection at Clarkschool road only has stop signs,,no red light,,,thats going to be a bad spot also. Then when you pass that you'll it the loop,,,and thats going to be a one hell of a bad spot....Now if parents decide to take the Glascow route,,,be ready to be stuck in traffic,,its always bad in that area,,even when theres no school.........I just dunno about about Victoria,,,,just dunno........

Ok Mr. Bill Cate, so your not a bit worried about the H1N1 virus? Are you Nuts?,,,You may need to do more research on just how bad this pandemic is. I'm not too sure that You've done your homework. And by the way I Really like how you said that we're doing like other counties,,and you just mentioned Dewitt. What about More counties?,,How are they reacting to this H1N1 pandemic?. Lets take a look at the statistics,,,over 1800 people worldwide have DIED from this. May not seem like alot to You,,but its plenty for me to be abit more concerned than you seem to be. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not overly worried,,I'm just facing facts. They are estimating that as many as 2 BILLION worldwide will become infected with the H1N1 virus. Back in 1968 the Hong Kong flu killed about 1 MILLION people, and ordinary flu kills about 250,00 to 500,000 people each year. Now the Swine flu has been continuing to spread during the summer,,,,and normally flu viruses disappear with warm weather, but the swine flu is proving to be resilient. Sounds to me as if your looking at this as just a minor issue, by saying We Will Not Close The Schools. Why the hell not?. If there is an outbreak in the schools,,I say you better shut them down for awhile. Sounds to me like this all goes back to the almighty dollar,,,no kids in school,,no cash flow. We All know that each kid that goes to school is worth somewhere in the area of about $35 to $40 a head..Now days that is what Roll Call is all about. Kind of like counting cattle,,the schools count the number of heads in class during roll call and then tally up how much money was made for that day...Lets go back to All these counties that you were talking about. Do you think maybe you could mention more than just Dewitt county?..What about the counties around the San Antonio area? Take a look at how they are reacting to this pandemic. Hell they'll close public libraries if they have to,,just as they did last year. But Victoria will remain to do things ass backwards, as always. Look at what they're doing to provide water for the city. Opening up the city wells, letting water run thru the ditches, down to the river. Now how much of that water is actually going into the cities water supply? How much is just heading on down to the Gulf? How much is being evaporated? Stupid!! Just as our schools are!! I do think that we need to take this H1N1 virus a little more serious than what we are.

I agree,,why the rush?...If anyone's been in construction,,the Worst thing you can have tradesmen do,,is Rush....Only making more reasons for mistakes,,and taking shortcuts just to get the jpb done On Time...Oh and I'm sure that the inspectors have been in,,,but these large comercial buildings take Time to inspect. The inspector will not red tag the job sites if problems are found,,They Can't. These Victoria schools Must be completed on time,,and No inspector will get in the way,,,,Hell they might lose their job if they find things wrong. I'm sure they've been told by the city to overlook the Minor flaws..Your Children will be in these buildings in which workers have been pushed to the limit to complete. Is that what you want? These buildings need to be up and running for at least 3 weeks before a bunch of children start spending their days there.......And look at the highschools,,,same goes for those. They are Rush jobs,,and a rush job is a sloppy job. Its been terribly HOT and these workers are having to work under these conditions,,and having to Rush at that. I'm sure that the contractors are having to hire more subcontractors out, just to get these jobs done In Time..Whats the rush? We have enough schools for now. But thats the way of today,,,rush rush rush,,no matter what the outcome may be. But yes I do believe that these new buildings need to be completed way before the deadline. There are Transformers in place and these need (in use time),,,they could have defects. Balast in lighting,,,,theres been cases where many faulty balast were purchased on new construction sites. The list of things that need to be up and running before these buildings are Full of our kids,,is endless..But lets rush you guys,,it may be 107 degrees outside,,,but lets get it done.
