I managed there and I agree with everything you have all said. I worked for Tejas in Houston several years ago and saw my employment at the Victoria location as a challenge to bring it back to its former reputation as a good place to eat at an affordable price. After all the motto is "Where your friends are" This proved to be very difficult as the powers that be refuse to bend in even the slightest. Forums of this nature may be the only thing that opens "those" eyes to the serious issues he has as a service provider in a small town where everyone knows one another and shares this type of info with each other.I am to this day asked by people "Didn't you work at Tejas?" my affirmative answer always opens the door to complaint after compliant. I would apologize for your experience but i stopped doing that long ago. I am sure commenting here will in some way bar me from said business but I already know better than to spend my money there. Not personal Mr. Horadam just honest.

I am the bartender at Sun Valley and we are working really hard to promote local talent as well as talent from the surrounding areas. We have been showcasing a lot of Texas Country as of late but we also have metal shows, rock shows and acoustic pop. We cant wait to finish the dance hall and have much larger shows and events. So come out and support local talent and a great venue.

Crazy is right. My ex owes me 16,000 in back child support for 3 children. He is a contractor and hides most of his income all the while whining and crying about how his child support is too high. Forget that daycare for all three is more than his monthly support payments. I am surprised you dont hear of more single mothers murdering these dead beat dads. It takes forever to get them into court and enforcement is a joke. What is wrong with these men that they think they have it so bad that they have to further destroy their childrens lives by taking away the one person who even cares what happens to them? I hope this guy gets lethal injection.

Justin and Amanda Hurst were my neighbors across the street. The news of Justin's death hit me hard. You see they were great neighbors. When they moved in they relandscaped and gave me some trees and shrubs to put in my yard. Amanda was a substitute teacher who on many occasions taught my daughters. She also sold Mary Kay and would often bring over large bags of samples for us. I remember Justin often playing with their big black lab in the front yard. We had a big flood in El Campo the year they moved in and Justin loaded up his boat and helped rescue people from their homes along the Tres Palacious river. He was a good man. They were expecting their first child when Justin was killed. They were so excited. We have 6 children and they would always wave to the kids and tell them hello when they were playing outside. They wanted to be parents so bad. I hope this monster gets the worst possible punishment for taking such an honorable young man who loved his family, his community and his job. My prayers are with Amanda and their child often and I know this wont bring him back but I hope it brings her some peace.

And you clearly did not read my comment as I stated my lawyer is involved. Also I would like to add that responsibility is not an issue with my daughter as she is the eldest of 6 children to which she is an awesome sibling and example. Did I mention home schooling has allowed her to already begin college classes? Oh yeah I didn't because THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE!

Hiding out at home? I think you need to reign yourself in a little and stick to topic. She was not driving she was at school and there is protocol that should be followed that is the issue. She is very aware of the real world as we are not from this small minded little town. At 17 she has more awareness of the world around her than many adult I have met here. As I said stay on topic and stop taking jabs at my parenting.

My daughter begged to be drug tested and was denied over and over. I am not against drug testing nor is she. My point was the staff are incompetent and that needs to be addressed. You know who had VISDs side to my daughters story? The campus drug counselor and my attorney on tape. I point blank asked them why they never notified me and was told they had to wait for an officer to come from another campus and so on and so forth. I stated "Well then you had ample time to contact me before questioning began". The Victoria police department determined she had done nothing illegal and she was never charged. Why they recommended Mitchell I have no clue and was never given an adequate explanation. My daughter is now Home schooled finishing out her Senior year. Have you spent any time on campus? I am going to wager that you have not. The student who spoke about this on KVIC was exactly right. Don't believe them just ask 20 more good kids and they will tell you the same. And to the person who said they can search or test her child anytime without consent....You have no idea what you have left your child opened to or what kind of lesson that teaches. We have rights and you should never allow your child's to be violated.

V.I.S.D. cannot be trusted with this program. The fact is they have continually violated students rights and parents need to be aware that proper procedure is often thrown to the wind by these idiots. My daughter was illegally detained, searched and questioned for two hours before I was notified. Even though they determined she had done nothing illegal to save face it was recommended she attend Mitchell like some criminal. They have a long way to go before they can even begin to enforce anything. My younger children WILL NOT attend public school after the elementary level.
