I wish luck to everyone who is without a job due to this layoff or any other layoff. I know plants are a pretty big deal in this area. But *NEWSFLASH* they are not the only ones doing layoffs. What about the companies who are asking employees to take a paycut or take a hike? I would really like to hear someones sad story for the holidays... Is there anyway the Victoria Advocate can find one of these former DOW employees and interview them so that we can hear about the 4 mouths they have to feed at home? Make us that much more thankful for the job we currently have. Who knows... next month one of us bloggers may be the one out of a J-O-B. I work in the oilfield and from what i see things aren't looking too good for us either. : (

From what I understand a notary is not allowed to notarize something that has already been signed. The form must be signed in front of the notary by both parties... or however many people are required to sign the form. Therefore, the above mentioned notary could be in some pretty big trouble. no, it does not sound legal at all to me.

I have heard from a very credible source that they do plan on reopening..... I am just not real sure when. I went there a few times myself, I on the other hand work full time so I took my son with me so we could have some together time. He enjoyed helping me whether we played on paper or on electronic machine. And he would get super excited when it looked like we were gonna win. Sadly, we never did. But I bet the person who did probably needed it more than we did. There were some crooked things going on in there and from what I understand that is why they shut down. Michelle, hang in there they will be back soon.

I would personally really like to read an article in which the people who have lost their job can say how this loss impacts them. So bone heads who do not realize what is going on can have an eye opener. We always see commercials on television asking us to sponsor a kid in some foreign country and send them X amount of money every month so that they may eat and receive medical attention and go to school. We ought to make a commercial singling out the celebrities that make crazy amounts of money to sponsor a city. Think about it! Victoria would be set if Brad and Angelina sponsored us....... oh no, wait..... then we would probably use that money to improve the sidewalks. : ( On the flip side maybe we would have trash collection more frequently.

WOW! And i thought i had an expensive bra and panty habit! LOL!!!! Of course i pay for all mine with the faithful plastic card....... But this is just ludacris! $20,000 worth?! i wonder how many sets they actually got. i bet it does not put a dent in the salaries of Gisele, Alessandra, or Adriana though.

How anyone can look upon a child with lust is beyond me, much less a child that is a relative. These two are sick and i hope they get what they deserve! No sunlight ever again!

At this point I am not too concerned with who buys vehicles from where or who profits from what. I am more concerned with the ex Quality employees who are now out of income. Holiday work will be available soon..... but then what? No telling how many single income homes will be impacted by this.

I knew James and I know the people who love him. What a terrible accident! He will be missed, no doubt about that. My condolensces and deepest sympathies go out to all his friends, family, coworkers, and those who tried to save his life.

If you took the time and effort to board up, might as well keep it that way until hurricane season is over and done with!
