I think this is pretty sad actually. It is wonderfully that she has the intelligence to actually suceed in the advanced classes. But at 14 has she reached the maturity level to handle the college life? Most young adults normally attending college do not even have the maturity yet. To actually do well in college you have to study hard and for a 14 year old experiencing hormonal changes and in a very confusing stage of life this is not a good situation for her.

But every now and then there are kids like this who excel in school while still somehow maintaining a good social life. If it works for her then great. I would just be very cautious as a parent. I would stick with a low number of classes. Maybe 1 or 2 a semester. And if this kind of intelligence was normal it would not be in the paper. If I were a parent, while proud, I would watch her carefully. High intelligence does not mean perfection. And most always when you have a strength in one area, you have a weakeness in another.

This is a great victory for the city of Victoria and ecspecially it's employees.

let them have their "trial"...they broke into the home, with witnesses, and were found in possession of stolen property...the trial is a formality...

only way these guys are gettin off is if tyler decides he wants to start playing games again.

we need to be harsh on these burglars...so many are happening and suspects are never found or the cases aren't strong enough for conviction.

This Hagan guy scares me. He is using and exploiting people's fears about our city and county representatives to gain their trust and validate their fears.

Fact is people want to believe the impossible...the crazy...the kind of stuff that finds it's way into tabloids. We fear it but we want to believe it. He is using this to his advantage because for quite some time now he has been planning to run himself.

He wants people to beleive these things and to feel that by electing him he will make all the crazy go away.

Please do not fall for this man's "plot" so he calls it. He is completely full of it.

yes, i did that and it was not going away. that is why i sent a message to cobler and he said a tech removed it.

Well first of all, I would like to say, while there is a bit more this particular deputy could have done...such as issue the neighbors criminal trespass warnings...there is not a whole lot more they can do.

Sorry, but if there is no evidence of a crime, nothing can be done. End of story. Take it to court...how will you proove it? The deputy is not lying to you!

So...your mother can either move, or say "two can play at this game".

They throw a ball over the fence, put it in the house or pop it and throw it back over...and when the deputy comes to her house you know what she can tell them?...PROOVE IT.

Can't think of any kind of ball this kid would be playing with that costs over $50 which would make this particular offense of theft or criminal mischief a CLASS C MISDEMEANOR, the equivalent of a speeding ticket. Think the officer is going to pursue it? NOPE! And even if he does the most he will do is write her a citation...he will not haul her off to jail. And if he actually said that to her, he is a worthless lying deputy and is just tired of dealing with this neighborly fued.

You can quote penal codes all day long. Surprisingly, some of us are actually aware of the penal code...and of what law enforcement can actually act on. Don't blame law enforcement. Cops did not write the laws. They're just doing their jobs.

If you know the law so well, then you should be able to figure out the loop holes and make these neighbors lives just as miserable as they have made yours.

This or she moves or she continues to deal with this misery.

Oh and by the way, all you need is ONE witness to the crimes that these people are committing and then you'll have a case. Get a video camera. Stop complaining to the cops if you already know they can't do anything and do something for yourself.

i went to this horror of a woman for "womanly doctor" appointments when I was much younger. She had the nerve to actually chastise me for the fact that I was having sex with the only boyfriend I'd ever had even though I made him wait for almost 3 years and then during an exam she hurt me...pretty badly...and acted disgusted and annoyed at my being in pain. She is a horrible HORRIBLE woman.

I have a great idea about a newstory. How about our useless Animal Control? In addition to the rabid rabbit, there was another issue involving a horse on 3/31/09. go pick up the report from VPD. Why are taxpayers paying this department to do NOTHING???

You don't think it's criminal for someone to be walking around with a picture of a naked 15 year old on their phone? Look up the charge of Child pornography. It's no different than if they were carrying around a picture of the same thing in their pocket.
No big deal you say? Wait until it's YOUR 15, 13, or 11 year old daughter. Wait till she is sending naked pics of her "areas" to her 30 year old crush. Then you would be crying to law enforcement about why they aren't doing anything!

I have no problem with newspapers. What I have a problem with it newspapers that consistently twist things around to serve their own purposes. Example...the fatal funnel series.
Beleive it or not, I have a life outside of this paper being as how I only get on here for a bit each day. It's not something to even crosses my mind during the day. But I find my curiosity overwhelming at what I'm going to see here each morning. Its a good way to enjoy my coffee in the mornings...quite entertaining really. What is more interesting that what IS in the paper is what isn't in my opinion. Again...whatever sells papers. I mean hey, gotta make a buck right?
