It's not that the people of Yoakum are racist. The problem in small towns like Yoakum and others is there are a small hand full of people who pretty much run the town. When these individuals are flawed then you have problems. Also people in small towns are generally older and more concerned for their well being and safety and pressure LE to do more to keep them safe. Like any town or city in this country there are going to be racist, but to say "the people of Yoakum are severely racist" is a bit harsh. I may be wrong, but I feel their actions or lack there of is out of fear not racism.

Now what do you think they'll do with this boy:
    a) charge him with human trafficking
    b) give him a packet of all the free gov. programs available to him
    c) put him on a bus back to Mexico

Take your pick between b&c because we all know they won't do what should be done which is "a". I know he's only 16 years old, but guess what, at 16 you know the difference between right and wrong. His actions after being stopped proves that. In my opnion, which doesn't amount to much, is to prosecute him and send a message that trafficking will not be tolerated, regardless of age. But we all know what will happen. In all likelyhood "b" will be the correct answer. Look, I have no problem with people coming to this country to try to have a better life for themselves and their famlies, just do it legally.

Why is the fact they were wearing helmets news worthy? The fact of them wearing helmets has nothing to do with the accident. Why did he lose control? Was there another vechicle involved that didn't stick around? Was there a mechanical failure? What? We don't get a report on every car wreck if they were wearing seat belts. We DO, however, get the helment report on virtually EVERY M/C accident. WHY? Generally a fatal wreck @ 60-70 MPH with a helmet leaves a "pretty" corpse and that's about it. And before you ask, yes I ride and yes I wear a helmit but that's a personal choice.

This all started back during pres. race. Obama was a proponent of strict gun control as a Sen. When he was "given" the nomination people assumed his stance on guns would be the same. People like myself began to buy ammo just in case. The suppliers, not the local shops or the mfg. began increasing the price. 5.56 went from 5.25 for a box of20 to I think it's around 9.00 a box at Academy. There's plenty of ammo available on line if you look for it and you're willing to pay the price. The wars have little to no effect on ammo here. When did the mil start using .270, .222, .30-30 and the like? The ammo problem is price gouging on the middleman's part. Like gas, when they figure what the market will bare there will be plenty in the stores.

The HOG chapter IS trying to seperate themselves from the other riders in the region. I personally know a number of them and their attitude is they are above everyone else. I'm not saying they're all like that, but there are those who do feel that way. For those who think H-D's are always loud remember one thing, factory exhaust is very quiet. I ride a H-D Electraglide that makes less noise than a great number of pick-up trucks. One line of thought is with loud pipes if other drivers can't see you because they're busy talking on their cell phones hopefully they can hear you. Lastly if it's too loud ... maybe you're too old. Turn your hearing aid down.

The reason for all the press is simple... "dog bites man" doesn't sell papers, " Pit Bull mauls man" sells. Just because you don't hear about attacks from other breeds doesn't mean they don't happen. Please don't get me wrong, I feel the policeman was justified in his action. I am a firm believer that everyone has the right to protect themselves or their family from danger. Man or beast. I feel people, dog owners in this case should be held accountable. There is too much passing of the buck today. Ie.. "I'm fat because of Mc Donalds, I'm drunk because of the bar owner, ect. Also I'm confused, where did the jellyfish and Health Dept. come in at???

OK Joe, let's look at a ban on pits. Why? Because they are a public danger? I guess you'd like to pass a ban on which ever race of people who are responsible for most of the crime in your neighborhood too? One should not use the term "always" or "never". I guess some of the bloggers today are too young to remember the "bad press" other dog breeds have received. In the 60's and 70's it was the German Shepards and Dobermans. Unfortunetly the animal of choice for illegal activity currently is the American Pitbull Terrier. However there is a problem with all of this. There is a breed that is generally mistaken for the APBT, that would be the American Stafforeshire terrier. This breed doesn't have the temperment of the Pit. It is generally quick to anger, quick to bite, and not as easy to manage as an APBT. Lets remember the dog in the old show "Our Gang" and the dog in the Buster Brown shoes these were both APBT. Again, my opnion is there are no BAD breeds just bad owners. Also Joe if you want to move to a city where they have baned Pitbulls try moving to Key West Fl. the last I heard they had a ban on Pits.

OK people, enough of the Pit Bull bashing. Once again you are blaiming the breed of an animal for poor owner responsibility. I'm not here to proclaim ALL Pit Bull's are quiet and friendly. However, with proper enviroment and socializing the animal they are loving, devoted members of the host family. Pits are posessive by nature. The willingness to fight is a learned behavior. I've owned Pits since the mid-80's with no problems. There are no bad dog breeds, only bad, irresponsible owners.

Well I see Victoria is growing into a larger city, with all the associated garbage that goes with it. I beleave praying for people's minds is a good thing, but in this case praying for people to open their eyes would be more benificial. The longer Victoria is controled by "self serving individuals" the worse incidents like this are going to get. The people need to say enough with the childress behavior and send these people down the road. Instalation of individuals who care more about Victoria than making headlines is what is needed to help reduce the rising tide of violence, drugs, human marketing, and general lawlessness. The childish behavior between Law Enforcement and Justice Dept. has gone on too long. The price of doing illegel business in Victoria has to be so expensive as to force it else where. Victoria city and county have some of the finest officers around, but you're going to continue to loose them if you don't doo something and get people in place who will work together to work for Victoria's future, NOT theirs. Pray? YES and pray often.

The whole World knows messing with Israel is like playing with a rattlesnake, do it long enough and you'll get bit. Israel has shown they have the willingness to use their military, unlike some countries. Where is the bleeding heart media when it comes to Israeli children. Are they hiding in their cement bunkers with their terriorist pick of the week? To ALL the protesters go back to Israel to protest, where the problem is not here.
