Wow.... not a word about Yoakum. But hey, we're used to that over here in YT.

Cuero knows Yoakum had that game and that's all that really matters. Everyone knew who the best team was last night. Referees calls or lack thereof are part of the game and it is sad that they sometimes determine who wins. True, the Turkeys were ahead on the scoreboard and true, stats don't always add up to the winning team, but Yoakum is the REAL winner in this one. Everyone keeps saying that Cuero is overrated, but I don't agree with that. Yes, they are a top 10 team, but I think Yoakum is just as good. Our 2-4 record doesn't show that, but just watch and see as the season progresses. CUERO'S REIGN WILL COME TO AN END NEXT YEAR!!!!!

It was a great game between two great teams and Yoakum showed me something that I haven't seen in a while-- heart and determination. If you ask me, Cuero lucked out in this one. A bogus late-hit penalty on a sack of Arndt midway through the 4th quarter and a miracle TD pass on 4th and goal from 28 yards out bailed the Turkeys out. That's part of the game though and Cuero knew who the better team was tonight. We laid the wood and knocked them around like they haven't been knocked around in a long time. The Yoakum players should keep their heads up and be proud of their efforts. The season's not over by any means and if them 'Dogs keep playing like they did tonight, who knows how far they can go this year. I'm very proud of the Bulldogs and just wait--- Cuero's reign will be over with soon!

Yoakum CAN win this game without a doubt, but whether they do it is the question. Which Yoakum team will show up? If the 'Dogs play with their hearts on their sleeve and play with desire and emotion, they can beat Cuero. How bad does Yoakum want it? Are we just gonna let them come into Bulldog Stadium and win their 8th straight over us or are we gonna say "enough is enough" and turn the corner and become a football power to be reckoned with. The time is now! Let's go Bulldogs!

Sure hope he can get the job done in Yoakum. Looks like he may want to stay longer than the past few coaches. For the kids sake, lets hope so. I hear he brings a high school aged daughter and young son to town. Wonder what their ages are. I'm shocked at the pay. Nearly $70,000? I think Burk got under $60 and he came from a big 4A school. Kornegay is only on his second stint as head coach and both at the 3A level. Never thought Yoakum would pay above $60. Why didn't they give that to Burk? Maybe he would have stayed. Also understand that Kornegay runs some type of veer offense. The kids Yoakum have now are not built for the veer. Spread baby! Guess we'll see how things pan out. Hopefully he'll keep the weight training that was installed under the Burk regime. Kids are much, much stronger....

Yes, it'll be tough losing Coach Burk because he did improve a lot of things within the athletic department, but it's not the end of the world. Yoakum will move on and we pray that we get an AD with good morals and character. We need to get some stability and hire a guy that'll be here for the long run. I also think we need an all-around guy who just doesn't focus on football like Coach Burk did. True, we need a good football mind, but we also need someone who TRULY cares about all the other sports. I just hope the current varsity football players don't regress. They need to embrace the new AD with open arms and accept him. The Bulldogs have a ton of talent coming back and WILL BE state-ranked. Cuero will have their hands full with Yoakum this year..... True, Yoakum is a little different than most small towns, but I love it and the attitude of the fan base will change, believe me. The spirit will change for the better and we will get pumped and back these boys this year. It'll take more of the community getting involved and if these "golf-clapping, whispering fans" don't like it, they can go sit on the visitors side.... As for the players--- keep your heads up and do what you gotta do. There's no doubt the talent is there. Let's show the new coach what you're made of and show Coach Burk what he's missing out on.... GOD BLESS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why the man's still in jail if the DNA results came back negative. He's been in there for over 30 days. Sounds like YPD might be in for a lawsuit. Bad thing is that this rapist is still out there. I've talked with people I know over in Yoakum and they say this new police chief is a joke. Doesn't look good on him with this possibly being his biggest investigation while in Yoakum and he arrests the wrong man. But even though these DNA results came back negative, couldn't Miller still be the man and the DNA samples just got tainted somehow to throw the tests off? Guess we'll know something in time....... I hope they get the guy who did this for the sake of all the old ladies in Yoakum.
