I also get weird looks whenever I give someone the correct change on my total, so as not to get any change back. My total will be $9.23 and I'll give the cashier $10.23 and they'll look at me like "Out of $10?" and I say "And 23 cents" and I see their brain ticking, thinking "I don't understand...why did he give me an extra 23 cents?" and they stand there confused for a second. I'm like...just enter what I gave you into your computer and viola...it will tell you I get $1 back. Come on now.

What is it about homosexuality that makes everyone want to open their mouths? You just bring it up and suddenly everyone jumps in with "their" opinion like they're some person of authority. Are you people just as quick to go off about all the OTHER "sins" out there that go on every day? Let's see, there's teenage pregnancy, premarital sex in general, adultery, drug use, etc. All of which TONS of Victorians do every day in this city, thank you very much. But I don't see their sins getting the same reaction everywhere, but then we all know that's because they're straight and supposedly "Christian" even though they do as they please and ask for forgiveness later, so they are exempt from judgment. It's now almost a given that any couple dating for a few weeks or months will have sex, hardly anyone is really a virgin on their wedding night anymore. Funny, this is a sin, too, yet it is accepted as part of our modern society, yet homosexuality isn't. I love how you people pick and choose what to follow in your religion. That's great.
Basically what it boils down to is as long as you are straight and go to church, you can commit all the sins you want and still have the right to judge others. Half of you probably spend Saturday nights getting plastered at Cactus and go home and have sex with someone you're not married to, but you have the audacity to preach to homosexuals about what's a sin. You're all disgusting. If one person on here can claim they do not sin, then let them pass judgment. But until then, stop being so hypocritical and shut your mouths because you look like idiots.

I'm on the fence about Christianity, I mean I don't dislike anything about it, but some of the stuff in the Bible contradicts what science has proven. We know the earth formed over the course of millions of years, and humans weren't around for a good while when it first started, either. If you don't believe in some parts of the Bible, then it seems you have to pick and choose which parts you DO believe, and that's my only beef with it.
But I will say, even if this may be off topic, that the whole "don't ask, don't tell" thing is crap. How can you be asked to fight and die for your country if you're not even allowed to be who you are? What, you're good enough to die for them but you have to keep your mouth shut and lie about who you are? I have issues with that.

In this day and age, we all know what AIDS is and have been educated on how to protect ourselves from contracting it. If you have sex without a condom and catch AIDS, how the hell can you turn around and blame it on the gays? You know damn well how it's transmitted, it's your own fault for being stupid. That just seems like a way of shrugging off responsibility where it really lies. If you manage to catch AIDS, it is no one's fault but your own.

I have to agree, I hate when someone automatically calls racism whenever someone expresses disapproval for Obama. However, I also can't deny there IS a lot of it out there, mostly from senior citizens. I've had first hand experience hearing the older generation specifically say they don't like "blackie" being in office. Hang out with some senior citizens and listen to the things they say, and it becomes obvious everything they dislike about Obama is racially motivated. Not all of them. But a lot. I usually handle the criticism better when it comes from people under 50, because usually everything I hear from senior citizens is racist. I guess growing up in at a time where blacks weren't even allowed to sit with you at the movies and had separate schools and had to sit in the back of the bus made them that way. My grandparents are the same.
Beakus, but it doesn't affect you. You are not being asked to participate in homosexual activities just because someone else is. All you have to do is acknowledge their existence. If there were rape or murder involved, then you could climb on your high horse and preach, but when two adults consent to doing something that is their own business and harms no one physically or infringes on your civil rights in some way, then it's not up to you. I fail to see why anyone cares what two grown people do between themselves if it isn't affecting their own life. You can go on all day about how you disagree with it from a moral standpoint, fine, but morals are just opinions everyone has. Premarital sex, drug use, etc. can all be slated morally by people. Just keep to your heterosexual relationships and be happy. Why be concerned what other people are doing? It's their business. And hate to break it to you, but children in this country are well aware of homosexuals and it doesn't seem to be causing any of them to jump off bridges or go to therapists for a destroyed childhood. If they can fathom things like murder, rape, and war, I think they can handle two members of the same sex being intimate without having their entire lives shaken.
And Observer, if a gay couple uses protection like everyone else and doesn't go whore it up with everyone they know, they can't catch anything you can't catch. There are no "homosexual only" diseases, and you can't catch diseases if you utilize the same precautions every straight couple does. You say a lot when you say "What they do now is not only disgusting"...you need to admit even if homosexuals had no diseases you would still find reasons to hate them. It's a psychological need for you and nothing, not even if they all became world peace workers and spent every day giving food to the hungry, would make you accept them. Stating openly to the public that you disapprove of homosexuality is a stupid thing to do. Most workplaces now have strict stipulations about that sort of thing--it's not about suppressing the opinion of anyone, it's about keeping someone else from being singled out or feeling harassed. My job has zero tolerance for any remarks made to another employee or customer regarding their sexual orientation, race, or religion. You have to be an idiot to open your mouth at your job--there's a time and place for everything. I'm not going to tell my coworkers I hate Catholics or that I think Mexicans are lazy. That may be my opinion, but to say it publicly where I work is beyond foolish and I'd deserve to be fired for that.
There's also not much logic in arguing that homosexuals are intolerant of anyone not accepting them because any group that is persecuted is going to fight back. That's a given. You can't expect to back someone into a corner and have them roll over for you. I fail to understand why it matters to anyone in the first place. Being intolerant of anyone for their personal decisions just breeds animosity. It's unhealthy. Why would someone want to feel that way towards anyone? I can understand if it were related to something harmful, but consensual homosexual relationships are not harmful to anyone else. Being intolerant or opposed to them just sows the seeds of hatred and animosity, and honestly do we really need any more of that in the world? Why make life more complicated than it already is? Disapproving of them isn't going to make them go away any more than disapproving of a certain skin color will solve anything. They'll still be around, and you'll still harbor resentment for them. I fail to see how it makes sense from a logical point of view. God gave us the wisdom to accept the things we cannot change. Unless you have some secret plan for eradicating every homosexual and future homosexual in the world, better take that advice and get used to it.
Suzy, I would report the fraud but embarrassingly enough, some of the examples I mentioned are done by members of my fiance's family. My fiance is hard working and cannot fathom being without a job, but the family is another case altogether. One of the reasons we have limited contact with them. And much as I disagree with what they do, I'm not going to open myself up to relationship troubles by reporting them.
But from meeting them and other people who live near them in the same apartment complex, I've come to know many people who abuse and use the system to get things. I even know people on disability who do manual labor and other odd jobs "under the table" so they get double income. It's sad and irritating. But the food stamp fraud is common all over. And nothing is more frustrating than seeing a woman with 5 kids who works as a dishwasher getting $800 a month on Lonestar. Don't have kids if you're just going to make everyone else pay for them, stupid. There is such a thing as contraception.
