There are plenty of interesting and fresh jokes to be made about the subject at hand without resorting to the lowest of low hanging fruits. "Hey, I'm going to reference the guy with the funny name and make the same joke every other unfunny person with a keyboard and some free time has made for the last decade."

Spoken like a true out of touch politician. A 23 year old complaining about "kids these days"? If you're lucky enough to get someone 18 year old who isn't so interested in their future and college that they care about an election, maybe respect them enough to not call them kids.
If you want to do something different, don't fall in to the same traps that professional politicians do.
I'm late to the party, but this sort of thing is not without precedent. AC/DC also has strict rules in place to keep their music from being sold as single tracks, to the extent that they won't allow their songs to be made as single downloads for video games such as Rock Band. Instead, developers of the game had to create a AC/DC expansion pack that people bought at the store, much like they would a physical CD.
Actually I'm Hispanic so I'm not really speaking for you, I'm just a big fan of hyperbole. But hey, why not paint an entire group of people as horrible because some members of the group were horrible? At one point do you stop?
You know what, Rebecca brings up a good point, one that in my haste I completely overlooked.
It is the male agenda, here, that is the root of all of this. All the great wars in history? Men. The majority of domestic violence? Men. The bulk of cursing on golf courses? Most definitely men. Although I don't have anything to cite for that last one.
Men really are the cause of most of the social ills in this country. Not only that, but most of them look funny.
But what do I do? As a male, I'm aware that I'm responsible for so much of the wrongs of the world. But like a man, I also have a strong sense of self preservation.
I think the message here is clear: white people must be stopped. Did you know that people who are classified as "white" for their race commit 51% of the sexual abuse crimes in this country. These people are a menace, and I'm tired of their aryan agenda effecting the lives of our most innocent.
Victoria, I call upon you to join me in fighting the white menace. The battle will not be easy, but if we roll up our sleeves we can do it.
Also, everyone should watch Deliver Us From Evil. Here is the trailer. It's pretty amazing:
I, too, fear the homosexual agenda. How dare they be free to get married? The only reason my marriage survives is so that I can rub it in the face of all those gays that can't! If they're allowed to get married, then what will I have left?
Won't somebody think of the children? "Smear the queer" is a game that has lasted through the ages. If they start thinking that being gay is fine, then what will they fill their time with on the playground? Four square is for socialist sissies.
Damn those gays for infringing on my God given rights as a middle class white male. We're the greatest minority in this country! I remember the good old days, when I could walk down the street insulting those of different races and beliefs without the fear of repercussion. Now I have to let people live their lives and be happy in ways that don't affect me? Malarky, I say! What's the use of being a white male in this country if you can't wake up every morning, look in the mirror and say "Well, at least I'm better than those limp wrist guys who are trying to marry each other. Gross. Except for Steve... he's one of the good ones"?
Why do they keep calling me a bigot? Just because I would deny them the same rights that get abused day in and day out? Why don't people care about the institution of marriage? So what if 50% of them end in divorce? That's just god's plan!
