I lived in Regency Apts for six months. It was really eye-opening. I don't think that you can really speak about the people there until you've lived it. There is something to be said about lumping a bunch of desperate poor people together. This wasn't the first, and will probably not be the last incident there. I am sorry for the young woman and the toddler involved, I hope they get some help and the right kind of intervention.
That's my street, and I can't say that I am surprised. Not only do people drive recklessly, but the kids in the area are minimally (if at all) supervised (and walk in the middle of the street, dart in and out of driveways), and the street is so packed with parked vehicles that it makes for really poor visibility in terms of seeing pedestrians/kids on bicycles. I'm glad that both the boys seem to be on the mend, considering the fact it could have been much, much worse.
I hope that women in the area will be on high alert after this. Maybe carry some pepper spray on a key chain and a cell phone if you're out after dark.
I think the Occupy Victoria facebook page is a joke. And if you want to make changes you need to have a list of demands or a manifesto. If you aren't alligning with the Declaration of Occupation you shouldn't allign yourself with Occupy Wall Street, and instead call your "movement" something other than "Occupy". Just my two cents. What do I know.
I fully support Occupy Wall Street and hope that congress will pass bill HR 1489 (to reinstate provisions of the GLASS - STEAGALL ACT). However, I would venture a guess that Occupy Victoria has nothing to do with that.
@ Fatguy (cause that's as far as I got), I'll have you know that not everyone on "food stamps" is worthless and fat. I for one, am health conscious (and a whopping 100 pounds) and am feeding myself and my one year old son home cooked meals everyday because of the Lone Star Card. I couldn't tell you the last time I had a soda.
And my car is a LATE 90's piece of crap - but it's PAID FOR (and is missing it's factory rims). You can bet I won't be on welfare long, but in the interim it is saving my a$$.
Your comments are offensive. And if your daughter and grandson were on "food stamps" I think you might be singing a different tune.

I can dig it.

OMG, why? No one cares. I'm sure there's plenty of real corruption you could dig up if you tried hard enough/gave a crap.
