I think it was a good idea to disclose this early in the election cycle. We do live in a small community and lines often overlap. I appreciate the Victoria Advocate addressing this.
I am sure this organization does good work, but I don't see how such a clearly religious group can be recruiting directly through our public schools. How is that happening?
I would like to vote for Houston CBS as KENS is not HD and the reception is lousy. KENS has no economic incentive to provide us a quality broadcast signal. Please give us another option for CBS.

Aren't we forgetting the reason children attend school? To learn. And part of that learning experience includes critical thinking, historical perspective, logic, and respect. Children in the United States of America should be taught to respect the office the President and they should be taught by example the importance of the Constitution. Let them listen and if someone wants their child to disrespect the Presidency or keep them from learning to think critically, then they opt out via permission slips. But for VISD to make this decision based on some nonexistent "controversy" is simply disgusting. What a poor example for the students.
It is great to see someone young and filled with enthusiasm, ready to be inclusive to all points of view taking a position of leadership in Victoria County. My husband and I both know Kelli and she is ready to lead the party with an open door policy and hard work.
I have a Droid and so does hubby. We love them. Fast, wireless everywhere, open source and real qwerty keyboard. I would take a pineapple over an apple any day.
This is an excellent column. I think we should all call our school board trustees and ask them to put this on the agenda. We want our children to receive the best education possible and have a say in what textbooks are chosen.
