Thumbs Down, to the people that spit in public places and places like the entrances to HEB and WalMart. Just to let others know please watch where you're walking.

No Deer Whistles Do No Work !
I worked at a job were I traveled down this road were deer every where. I went to Walmart bought these whistles. Read the instructions, They Must be mounted right and a certain speed has to be drive for them to be effective, I think it was over 30 MPH.
So, before I mounted these to my vehicle I gave them a test. I went back out to this road (it was a long road) rolled down the window and held both whistles in my hand, holding my hand straight and clear so that the wind would hit them. I speed up to 50 MPH.
There were deer on both sides of the road all the way down, must have been over 15 of them.
Lets just say "No Deer ran for its life away from me", They just keept on grazing and a few gave me a ,are you stupid look.
I took those whistles right back to WalMart !
When I flashed my high beams day or night and honked my horn now that got thier attention.

    Good Grief,
I'm a 45 year old male. I voted Republican since I was eligable to vote, but after ""W"" (Dub-Ya) I saw the light. Being a former Republican I know the angles and it breraks my heart when I see letters like this of Blind leading the Blind.

OK, Mack Simons of Wharton you write: It's odd nobody hears about what elimination of the Bush tax cuts will do to all of us not among the wealthy. That's probably because they don't want us knowing it's not just the rich who are getting screwed by the tax-and-spend crowd.

OK, ""W"" signed "The Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act" on June 7,2001. In 2001 there was a surplus of $128 Billion in 2007 there was a deficit of $162 Billion. Where did the Economic Growth go from these Tax Cuts? Are you better off now than before 2001? Did you pay a State Income Tax before 2001? The Job Creators can not create jobs since 2001?

The sadest part is the denial of the Republican GOP that the Iraqi War "Has Nothing to do with this Deficit", very odd being that the Iraqi War alone the U.S. has spent roughly $750 Billion. Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz has estimated the total cost of the Iraqi War at closer to $3 TRILLION. No weapons of mass destruction, "Mission Accomplished"
""W"" also signed into law Medicare Part D, which provides additional prescription drug benifits to Seniors. The program was NOT funded by any changes to the Tax Code. Now this Program alone crated $8.4 TRILLION in unfunded obligationjs in present value terms, a Larger fiscal challenge than Social Security ! ...and The Republican GOP is going to call Obama a Big Spender !

Since day 1 (one) the Republican GOP and TEA Party have made it a Mission and "We the People" all know this, That they want this President (Obama) to Fail. Then we hear from the Republican GOP Presidential Canidates in the Debates, "This President has Failed America".
Like I say, I was once Republican. The Republican GOP Failed on a President and the American People.

I'm In the middle of the road here on this issue, I'm not for nor I'm aginst these red light cameras. but OK lets say we take these cameras down and what are the odds of you guys getting stopped and getting a ticket, by a real live Policeman, Now come on I don't care how how much thier paying that Policeman it ain't enought to put up with the like of you guys, Cause you can't tell me ya'll would NOT fight any ticket ya'll would get ! It would be your word aginst the Policemans and I feel sorry for the JP that would side with the Policeman, Ya'll guys sound like ya'll would tar N feather'em, Good Lord help the poor Joe Citizen that makes eye contact with ya'll.

That Camera doesn't lie but I do agree the Human interpetation from City Hall or the camera Company is or may NOT be Perfect. You, Me, anybody has the right not to pay the red light ticket and it does not go on a driving record.
Come on Now , "We the People" electeted these Officials and your right come election time they can be voted out, Now who is going to run against them?

I was wrong, I admit it. I wrote, this Band Wagon petitions leader of the pack lives in Houston.
I see from this article and from archives of Letters to the editor (05/11/11 and 10/22/11) that Dwayne Buehring (formerly of Port lavaca) is co-founder of Port Lavaca Citizens Against Red Light Cameras not the founder or leader.
Now, I'm no expert but Mr. Buehring how long have you lived in Houston. Have you changed you Drivers License to you current Houston address. Thanks to new voting laws passed by the Republican GOP, when and if you ever come to Calhoun County to have red light cameras voted on by the people of Port Lavaca. You show your current driver licsense and it has a Houston address are you qualified to vote in Calhoun County? I really would not like to see any voter fraud that would jeopardize your cause.

Now, and if your cause goes all the way and cameras are took down will the city of Port Lavaca be faced with breech of contract with the camera company and then the possibily of a law suit, I'm not familiar with it but what happen in Houston?
In the Poll comments you write "your part OWNER of a business in Port Lavaca and you probably pay more in taxes locally in ONE YEAR than I pay in ten years". Now I'm not going to argue with you on that, BUT if the city of Port Lavaca has to pay legal fees, court cost and a Judgement (if any) to the camera company will the Tax Payers of Port Lavaca foot that bill? Will your ten years, mine and other cover any cost?
The City of Port Lavaca is not perfect, I miss Waste Management I don't like this new company, and how many men does it take to replace a water meter?
A couple of years ago I passed by Port Lavaca City Hall and theres "the culligan man" delivering bottled water to City Hall. What? city water ain't good enough fro City Hall. Like I said,"in a perfect world".

    OK plvd,
I made a mistake, and I will take resposibility for that.
The "Co-Founder" , Not the Founder Lives in Houston.
(formerly of Port Lavaca). Now plvd you do say the city is breaking the law, I do think running a red light would be considered breaking the law also.
Dwayne Buehring, part OWNER of a business in Port Lavaca and you probably pay more taxes locally in ONE YEAR then I paid in ten years. Carl Baugh, everyone in this world has a view of being a victim of circumstance and really I think ya'lls is "all about making money" of course not for you but for "The Beautiful city of Port Lavaca".
Now you guys don't get me wrong, No matter what I really do respect your cause, Thats the freedom we are blessed with living here in the US of A
The City of port Lavaca can and will do things that can really be mind Boogling. A few years ago driving by City Hall I see "The Culligan Man"delivering bottled water to City Hall, "What?, City water ain't good enough for City hall to drink".

    "in a perfect world"
We would not need red light cameras, no red lights, no stop signs, no tickets anf fines but this ain't a perfect world. I live in port Lavaca, Born and Raised. I drive these intersections day and night, never got a ticket. Just like anybody else I stop on red and do not play chicken when the light turns green to yellow.
What really gets me!, is this Band Wagon petitions leader of the pack lives in Houston (formerly of Port Lavaca), Move back to PL and better yet why don't you run for PL city council !

    "in a perfect world"
We would not need red light cameras, stop lights, stop signs, but its not a perfect world. I live in Port lavaca, I do not have a problem with these red light cameras. I guess thats why I STOP at red lights and do not play chicken when green light turns yellow.
Like I said, "I live in Port Lavaca", Born and Raised, it just (words can't express) gets me to see a petition band wagoning around town and the band wagon leader lives in Houston (formerly of Port Lavaca).
I drive these red light camera intersections every day and night, if (formerly of Port Lavaca) has a problem with these red light cameras move back to Port Lavaca, maybe you could even run for city council !

On February 2, 2007, Perry issued an executive order mandating that Texas girls receive HPV vaccine that protects against some strains of the human papilloma virus, a cause of cervical cancer. The order provided vaccination free of charge to those who were not covered by insurance. The order included an opt-out provision for parents. At the time of the order, Gardasil, a newly approved drug manufactured by Merck was the only FDA approved HPV vaccine. The move made national headlines, and apparent financial connections between Merck and Perry were reported by news outlets, such as a $6,000 campaign contribution and Merck's hiring of former Perry Chief of Staff Mike Toomey to handle its Texas lobbying work.

Perry's decision has been criticized by some social conservatives and parents due to concerns about possible moral implications of the vaccine and safety concerns. On February 22, 2007, a group of families sued in an attempt to block Perry's executive order. Perry's order has also been criticized for the price of the vaccine: approximately $360 in Texas.

On May 9, 2007, Perry allowed a bill to go into law that would undo his executive order. (Wikipedia)

Texas Gov. Rick Perry vetoed 23 bills Friday, including legislation that would have outlawed sending or reading text messages while driving.

Lawmakers approved the texting ban last month, but Perry called it an "Outreach" and "Government effort to micromanage the behavior of adults." (Victoria Advocate, 06/18/2011, page A4)

There maybe a far cry from the HPV Vaccine and Abortion to Texting while driving. Perry vetoed texting and driving because Perry called it an "Overreach" and "Government effort to micromanage the behavior of adults", but yet when it comes to Health Care and Social Issues its the same old Fip-Flop of Perrys GOP Republican Conservative ideology.

Texas does not need PerryCare and America does not need Perry in 2012
