When it comes time to stand up for what you believe in, will you be able to?
Over the past year, my stance on abortion has changed tremendously. I have been on both sides of this never-ending battle, and I have yet to see a good side to it. If someone is raped or involved in some sort of incest, it does not change what is really happening. Someone is dieing because someone does not feel like taking care of a child. They do not want to. It will be too hard.
Those are the facts. There is no argument to what abortion is for. It does not matter if you are pro-choice, pro-life, or pro-abortion. The fact remains that abortions only purpose is to kill children.
Some people will argue that the fetus is not a child; therefore, the fetus has no rights. Correct me if I am wrong, but wont the fetus eventually become a child, if given the chance?
It does not matter the circumstances in which someone became pregnant. The fetus, that would become a child (given the chance), did not choose how they were conceived.
I have been through nine months of a very hard pregnancy. I was sick for nearly 7 months, and by the time I was able to hold down any type of food, my baby was taking up all the room around my stomach. I could not ingest more than a cup of food at a time. I was miserable for nine months and 2 weeks.
Why cant a woman who conceived a child give up a mere nine months of her life for the life of someone else? Do we not all deserve a chance to live, and eventually be heard?
It did not take me having a child to get to this point, but having a child has made it easier to stand up and say something about what I believe in. My life is a challenge every single day. I do not get any days off from being a mom. I do not get to call in sick. I do not get to do whatever I want anymore. There are days that I swear cannot get any worse, and then they do. I have not slept more than 4 hours without interruption since before I was pregnant. I am constantly tired. I am constantly a mom. Those are the facts.
Most any mother (or father) will tell you it was all worth it. I can tell you that one look at my son when he laughs, smiles, or sleeps does it for me. All of the frustration just fades away, as quickly as it takes to type this sentence.
I play a game with my little boy. He is almost two, and we have played it since he was just a few months old. I hold him in my arms, and slowly say, Immmm gonnna DROOOOOP my baby! When I get to the word drop, I pretend like I am dropping him by bending down fast, and letting him fall with me. My grandmother nearly faints when I do this, but my son just laughs and begs me to do it again.
My grandma and any other innocent bystanders are the only ones that are ever scared. My son and I always laugh with each other, because we both know that I would never really drop him. At six months old, he knew this: I am his mother, and I am responsible for him.
That is what women need to start realizing. It does not matter how you got pregnant, you are responsible for another human being. That is a tremendous thing that cannot be denied, whether you believe in God or not. It is another fact.
This is my opinion. Abortion is wrong. Abortion kills babies. CHILDREN. Abortion is an easy way out for more than half of the people who receive them. There are people who befell the worst circumstances imaginable and there is no reason why they should kill someone else, just because something horrible happened to them. If a woman is physically able to carry a child to term, and give birth, there is nothing they can do or say that would condone killing another person.
Men and women should be held accountable for what is going on. Babies are dieing on our watch and no one is doing anything about it. There is no reason for it. I know it is not physically possible for some women, but that is a very rare instance. Do some of your own research. Go to an abortion clinic and ask questions. Look at the people there.
Over half of all women who get abortions are just too lazy to deal with the consequences of having a baby. It is a very hard truth to swallow, but those are the facts.
The article I linked to in the first sentence of this blog talks about someone who is standing up for what they believe in, and in turn, the unborn who do not have a voice yet.
That is why I am standing up now. I am lending my voice to potential babies, children, and adults until they are able to do so themselves.
It is the least I can do now.
EDIT I have commited a grave crime. I didn't fact check properly before spewing forth. I was going upon a study I had read about a year ago. Here is a link to something more accurate, and an excerpt from that article. Link, click here.
"First, some argue that society must permit abortions for all women, for any reason, for any time, during their pregnancy. And if you say, you are against abortion. They immediately bring up the question, "Well what about all the women who have been raped?"
Now there are two answers that can be given to this question.
1)Laws prohibiting abortion except for rape, incest and the life of the mother would eliminate 95% to 98% of all abortions. According to the general social surveys taken from 1972 to 1985, and published by the National Opinion Research Center, "Approximately 98% of all abortions are performed for social, non-medical reasons. But 77% of the American public opposes permitting abortion for these reasons."
2)People bringing up the question of rape make it sound like the majority of women having abortions are having them because they were raped. But that is just not true. You know that only 6/10 of 1% or about 900 per year are due to rape. "98% or 1,470,000 for convenience". For incest "Less than 1% of all abortions are because of incest". How many abortions are performed because of deformity of the child? "2% of all abortions are because of possible deformity" and of these many are correctable. How many abortions are performed for the life of the mother. "6/10ths of 1% to 1% are because of a threat to the life of the mother." Even if you add all of the "hard cases" together, that is rape, incest, chance of deformity of the child, and threat to the life of the mother, all 4 of these categories only total 3% to 5% of all the abortion cases in America."
