Hello All!!

Hope you have been doing well, and enjoyed your holidays. I know I am so behind in posting!! :) So here is an update for you.

In November, I came out to Texas Thanksgiving weekend, for my kids birthday my daughter turned double digits!! Ten years old now and my son is now six!! they share the same birthday, my how time flies!!

I arrive in Texas and travel to my best friends house, she knew I was coming but her children did not know, imagine the screams of four children who are so excited to see you!!! I went to go pick up my kids from their dad's and I had a birthday party planned out at Chuck E Cheese, then on their actual birthday I took them to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus. The following day, was spent at a relative's house in El Campo for Thanksgving Dinner. (we had it on a Sunday, tradition in my family) Monday was spent back on the plane to California, and crying the whole way home because I miss my kids so much and they are getting so big!!!

Christmas was not fun for me, the first year ever without them, I didn't put up a Christmas tree, or lights, or even get gifts. Was not in the holiday spirit at all without them. Didn't do much for New Year's Eve, my sweetie took me to Disneyland to try and help cheer me up, but it's not the same, not to mention me and my wheelchair in crowded Disney on NYE didn't help matters.

I'm continuing to work, I applied for two promotions and didn't get either. :( So yesterday was a very rough day. Not only did I not get the promotion I was hoping for, my legs have been very weak, and today they were completely numb. All I can hope that tomorrow is better, still don't have a Dr. Medi-Cal (california's version of Medicaid denied me) I didn't apply for insurance through my work as it's almost as much as I make!!! But I keep hoping upon hope that it will get better, I mean i've been down before and the only place to go once you've been down is up right??

Planning for a busy summer ahead, have a wedding, my kids are coming out here to California for the summer (it's all they talk about when I do talk to them, and all we can talk about as well!) then I have a friend from South Africa coming to the states later this summer!! and that is all in the span of two months!! Very busy, but I know that keeping busy will help keep my mind off of the pain, especially once my kids get here!!! :)

I hope you are all doing well, any words of encouragement to help cheer me up from the blow of not getting either promotion helps as well!! But, I hope you are well, and doing great!!! Can't wait to hear all about you, and what's going on in your corner of the world!!

Until next time Victoria...

  • I wish that your courage and tenacity could be bottled and sold over the counter. I think you are like Rocky Balboa. This life gives many blows to everyone. Most people cannot handle the blows and it causes them pain and inhibits their ability to keep pursuing their dreams. You seem to keep saying that I am still here and my circumstances are not going to stop me. You got to meet Celine! I am very jealous and envious. I would not have been able to speak in such a moment. LOL. Serously, I see triumph in your life. This blog is a triumph. The ability that you have to put yourself out there on a limb. I do not have the courage to put my life on a blog. I think that is very courageous. I think you have many gifts. This blog is a gift to me. The game of golf is scored in many tournaments by what is called a handicap. The course should be finished in a score of 72 strokes. 72 strokes is what is par or normal. It would probably take me 102 strokes to finish 18 holes of golf. My handicap would be 30. This is why I think you are Rocky. No matter how many strokes it takes you to finish one golf course, you show up the next day and say that you are ready for the next golf course. That is the Victory! That is what INSPIRES people. You are an inspiration to me. I know that God loves you a lot. Keep casting your cares to him. God has promised to give charge to his angels to watch over you. God has promised you favor that will last a lifetime. Goodness and mercy will follow you all of the days of your life.
