My Dad has come to live with me and my husband, Robert. Daddy has Alzheimer's that is fairly advanced. Despite his loss of memory he is a sweet and funny man who likes to tease and joke. When he gets bored he informs us he's got to get on the road and go home. I've found that taking him on a drive (to anywhere) calms him down.

Tomorrow I'm going to check into adult daycare and see what's available. I love the fact that I can see him everyday now. When he lived in Vidor with my brother, Jody, I had to drive for about four hours just to visit him. Then turn around the next day and drive four hours back to Victoria because I had to be at work on Monday. I just hope he will be happy here.

Today he and I went to Denny's for breakfast and then drove to the park to look at the ducks and geese swimming in the pond. My dad informed me that he always goes to this park and it's really nice. I think he's confusing it with Terrell park in Beaumont. But I don't argue with him; the fact is, he liked the park.

So,as I said earlier, we are going to check into a couple of adult daycare centers. I hope this works out for us.
