We decided to take Dad with us to California. After Robert and I talked about the trip it just didn't seem right to leave part of our family (aka Dadddy) at home while we go off on an adventure. I was lucky enough to get a ticket for Dad on the same flight to and from Burbank, Ca.

For the last few days Dad has had some problems with shortness of breath. His problem seemed to start when he hurt his back while he was bowling. He's still having pain and he gets tired easily. I'm starting to worry that this trip might be too hard for him. I don't know... So far a couple of the hospice nurses have reluctantly advised against taking him. I think they may be right.

The hospice doctor is (hopefully) coming by today to answer some of our questions. One thing's for sure, I don't want to put my Dad or us in a bad situation; he might get sick on the plane, not able to breathe or worse.

I've pretty much resigned myself to staying home with him. I'm disappointed that I won't get to see my daughter and her family but I think daddy needs me more right now.
