Sneezing in one California classroom won't earn any polite "bless you's" -- at least not from students concerned about their grades.

Turns out a Fresno, Calif. teacher has banned the saying in his classroom, even going so far as to dock points from students' grades if they use the phrase.

The teacher said he doesn't ban "bless you" for religious reasons, but because the saying is distracting and doesn't quiet make sense in modern times.

The origins of the saying date back to old beliefs about sneezing being a symptom of the plague and myths associating sneezing with the presence of the devil.

Meh, it may be a saying with silly origins, but it's nothing more than polite to say "bless you," right?

I say pick your battles, man.

What do you think?
