Remember them?

This was the all-girl team from Goliad High School that thrust themselves into a world usually reserved for the boys -- restoring a 1951 Ford tractor.

I had so much fun spending a morning with Shanna Whitfield, McCalley Cunningham and Sara Pnacek back in October, when their tractor was stripped down to just its transmission. The ladies had confidence, some girl power swagger and a sense of humor about their endeavor into the nitty gritty of mechanics.

Luckily, their supporters and teacher, Trey Psencik, kept in touch with me throughout the year. Turns out, the girls are pretty good at what they do.

Here's what their project looked like when they first got their hands on it:

The girls' tractor ended up winning grand champion at the Goliad County Livestock Show, and they took home nothing less than a blue ribbon at all of four shows across the state. Likely struck by the mechanics in dresses, news outlets in Corpus Christi and San Angelo even interviewed them about their project.

Stay tuned for more from the pretty powerhouse. They're ready to get their hands on another tractor this summer and plan to compete in other tractor restoration shows next year.
