Time for me to get out there again an d job hunt...again! A case of the Mondays? Cheer up! It will be a great day! So I am still not sure if i will be doing anything for halloween or even dressin up:( It is one of my FAVE days! Anywhoo what are everyone's plans for halloween? I know there are a few people out there that beliee it is the devil's birthday or that it is just pure evil. but i do wish people would learn their history. he many customs we have today in relation to Halloween have their origins in the religious practices of the Romans and the Druids, therefore dating back many centuries. The Romans worshiped various gods and on October 31, a special feast was held in honor of Pomona, goddess of the fruit trees. Later, the Druids, an ancient order of Celtic priests in Britain, made this feast an even more extensive celebration by also honoring Samhain, lord of the dead. This was normally done on November 1 and it was therefore decided to conveniently honor both Pomona and Samhain on October 31 and November 1....read the rest here...http://www.holybible.com/resources/halloween.htm...
anywhoo later guys.

Halloween has always been a party day but a few years back when I was working in the Valley I was introduced to "the Day of the Dead" (Dia de los Muertos) which falls the day after Halloween on November 1. A much more sensible holiday, by my view, celebrating one's ancestors and the reality of death as part of the life process. Brightly colored decorations, food, and religious significance without the abject terror most folks have today (as our culture tends to sanitize and segregate death into a sort of sugarcoated denial).
Dia de los Muertos points to more of a sugarcoated acceptance.
