Dear Readers: Technology may be fun and exciting, but sometimes bad stuff can come from it, and I'm not talking about radio waves. Facebook is probably the site teenagers visit the most. It's cool to share your thoughts and opinions with your friends. Be careful! Anyone can read your post or comment and use that to harm you, especially stalkers and other creepy people. Never put your address, phone number, or email address on your social media sites. Also, if you use Facebook, hide your wall and information from people who aren't your friends, and don't "friend accept" anyone you don't know. Stay technologically safe! Lots of Love, Alice

Original Ask Alice:

Dear Alice: Kids at my school have been getting in trouble lately for what they put on Facebook. Is that legal? And if it is then what is OK to put on Facebook and other sites? -Just Wondering Dear Just Wondering: Yes, it is legal to use Facebook and other social websites to catch bad stuff. There have even been trials in which Facebook messages, posts, and comments were used to convict someone, and most colleges will look at the applicants' Facebook in the application process. Sometimes people don’t realize that EVERYONE can read Facebook, which makes it easier for stalkers and other creepy people to find them. Always be careful with what is said on social network cites because it never goes away. Don’t post rude things about other people, any kind of pornographic media, or spread gossip on these sites. Before you post, think about what you’re posting and ask yourself if this is something you would be OK with your grandma knowing. This will help you a lot with your social media appropriateness!
