  • Dear Distance: Make the most of your college days, make your grades. Find out just who you really are, besides some moonstruck teenager hell bent on popping out a bunch of ragamuffin little kids you can't afford. You two don't need to be together every waking minute. The time'll come soon enough when you'll need some time apart, believe it or not. Let him go get established in his career and be making some money to save for a nest egg to help you to get started as a couple, if that's meant to be. Give yourselves a chance to start out ahead in the game of life. Make some lifelong friends besides the kids you grew up with. Learn something about other cultures and places. Extend yourselves. If you're still with me, the best of luck to you.
