This week the Advocate will offer a wide assortment of local stories to read.

We will cover the Civil War Symposium at Victoria College. We are planning a fun video to go with the advance hone up on your Civil War history and play along.

We are also planning a sneak peek at the first ever Bootfest planned for Friday and Saturday downtown. We will map out the event as well as preview the music line up. We will also be there to cover the event. So put on your boots and come on over to the festival.

We will offer a look at deer season and what experts are anticipating this season.

In addition to having the weekly flag corps feature on Friday, we are beginning an ongoing series in the Your Schools section on Sunday taking a look at life behind the scenes of school mascots. We will start with Calhoun Sandcrabs. We plan to eventually work our way through all the mascots in the area.

We will also have an inside look at the Riverside Baseball stadium and why the city is making changes to its operations.

We will take a tour of the First United Methodist Church’s annual pumpkin patch.

We will have parts 5 and 6 of Robert Zavala's graphic novel "Blood Ties."

And of course in sports we will have coverage of high school volleyball and football. Both seasons are winding down and soon teams will be heading to the playoffs.

We will have all this and a lot more to offer every day. So pick up a copy of the Advocate and enjoy reading about the Crossroads area.
