After helping the Ganado to its first undefeated regular season in 23 years, five Indians were named to the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors Class 1A All-State team announced on Sunday. Josh Labay and Trey Thedford garnered first team offense and defense honors while senior linebacker Tyler Gorman landed on the second team defense and Case Silliman and Cade Cihal were defensive honorable mentions. Labay carried much of the load for the Indians in this senior season. The running back ran for 2,028 yards and 28 touchdowns. Thedford’s play as a defensive back got him a sport on the first team defense. In 2011 the senior had six interceptions and 51 tackles. The Indians finished with a 11-1 record and made it to the Area playoffs before losing to Mason.
