The Advocate's editorial board met this afternoon and decided on topics to address in "Our views" this week.
Following are those topics:Thursday - Tejano statue at the capitol
Friday - D-Day
Sunday - UHV expansion signing
Monday - UHV's student representative on the UH System Board of Regents
Tuesday - Water concerns editorial
Wednesday - Bluebonnet Youth Ranch
This Friday, we will meet with officials of the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority.
What questions would you ask pertaining to water issues and pipelines?

Those all seem worthy topics, Mr. Delaney. Might I suggest a small story about the President Ronald Reagan statue unveiled at the Capitol building just today? Perhaps an accompanying piece about his lasting legacy so many years later would also be fitting. It doesn't have to be in "Our Views", but I think that the impact this singular man had on our world is just as important as the impact Tejanos have had on Texas and the unveiling of their statue, and I would like to see more coverage of world and national events in the Victoria Advocate. I know, I know, it's a community-based paper, but please don't ignore important happenings in this nation.
As an addendum, I was pleasantly surprised to see the anniversary of Tienamen Square as a choice for the front page, and equally dismayed at the low percentage of those who voted for it. I think it would have a new meaning to a new generation who was not even alive when it happened, and would resonate with those who were and who remember it so well. I do hope you plan to cover it somewhere in the paper.
