A 200-pound, 8-year-old boy was removed from his Cleveland Heights, Ohio home and placed into foster care. This was the first time Ohio's child protective services have removed a child for being overweight.

Harvard University Doctor David Ludwig recommended children be taken away from guardians or parents in extreme cases this summer. Here's an excerpt from Yahoo! News. Juvenile endocrinologist David Ludwig says, "In severe instances of childhood obesity, removal from the home may be justifiable, from a legal standpoint, because of imminent health risks and the parents' chronic failure to address medical problems."
