born Those old men in Arizona haven't had to worry about that in a very ,very long time...lol
I still believe a lot of this is to please the far right Christian conservatives and it's part of the plot to weaken the Affordable Care Act but as you and EA said, it's going to backfire because women make up 51% of the electorate and they VOTE..."hell hath no fury as a woman scorned"
And, something else they just don't get. It's not only about women either. How many men want their women on birth control so they don't have to go get the old snip, snip?
It's called overstepping. The GOP think that since the 2010 elections went like they did, it is what the majority of voters want. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Will they ever learn about mid-term elections and what they really mean? They may be finding out differently come November when women flock to the polls to make their voices heard...very LOUDLY!
The GOP must stay up late every night and dream of new ways they can irritate women...What do they have against women?
"Arizona legislators have advanced an unprecedented bill that would require women who wish to have their contraception covered by their health insurance plans to prove to their employers that they are taking it to treat medical conditions. The bill also makes it easier for Arizona employers to fire a woman for using birth control to prevent pregnancy despite the employer's moral objection.
I agree, born. What does the ad say? "If your erection last more than 4 hours, you should seek medical attention" or something like that? Sometimes folks need to be told what is best for them because they don't know about these medical things like doctors do.
And Mike, you are right! If women were the majority, they'd be discussing real issues, not what is or isn't in their vaginas.
It's more of a statement because they don't have votes like their GOP counterparts.....The GOP knows that's it's a David v Goliath thing...I do give the female legislators credit for shedding more light on the issue...I think we need more female legislators, then we would have less scandals and they would less preoccupied with female health issues..As a female legislator said the other day,if they had 51% of Congress, the topic would be jobs and the economy.
In as much as there have been over 1100 bills introduced across the country concerning women's health, including passing legislation that requires the use of the invasive trans-vaginal sonogram, I think of couple of bills concerning the use of Viagra--a sexual pleasure enhancing drug--is no big deal.
I whole-heartedly support these bills. Not a knee jerk reaction at all. Probabaly much more carefully thought out than the 1100 females only bills were.

March 14, 2012 at 6:10 p.m.Like I said on Bob's blog--why would they want to piss off over half of the electorate? That doesn't even make good sense!

March 14, 2012 at 3:39 p.m.It's a good idea. One good turn deserves another.
March 14, 2012 at 3:28 p.m.But really, Viagra can be dangerous too, so why not point this out to men?
