... according to the state's database of the county's registered vehicles.
We are working on an in-depth report about vehicle fuel efficiency set to publish next week.
We wanted to know what you drive. As it turns out, most in the county drive a Chevy (17,037), then a Ford (14,357) and then a Dodge (6,314).
In all, there are 88,838 vehicles registered in the county. That number also includes farm trucks, trailers, buses, motorcycles and tractor trailers, in part.
Do you drive a Chevy? Does someone you know?
I'm still crunching the information to determine if the most popular Chevy model is a truck, but it's looking as if that's the case.
I'd like to talk to someone about why they choose Chevy.
Give me a call at 361-580-6519, post your thoughts in here or e-mail me at gsemenza@vicad.com.
If you drive a Ford or Dodge, I'd like to talk with you, too.
Thanks.

Learned to drive in a 51 GMC. Dad drove GM trucks.
April 23, 2008 at 12:05 p.m.I have driven mainly GM, 1/2 tons. Bought a Ford F 150 one time, no pulling power, lose driving and no fuel mileage so I didn't keep it long. Went back to GM. Then bought a Dodge, always some little to medium problem with it. Did not have it very long. Went back to GM. Just a few months ago I got rid of my 97 GMC with a 350 and bought a very low milage 05 Chevy, very nice truck. Plenty of power, comfortable and fuel mileage with the 5.3. I like the Chevy/GMC Silverado/ Sierra trucks.
Oldest son drives a 07 Chevy. His third GM truck, one GMC 2 Chevy. He lives here. Youngest son had an 95 Chevy then moved up to Alaska. Now drives a Toyota. Nice truck but is paying for the change with low fuel mileage.
