Are you visiting Hillary in Corpus Christi on Wednesday?

The Advocate received an e-mail on Monday promoting Sen. Hillary Clinton's plans to stop in Corpus Christi on Wednesday:

Come Meet Hillary Clinton!

You are invited to Join Hillary Clinton at a Campaign Rally on Wednesday, February 13th in Corpus Christi at Whataburger Field - (Tentative schedule) 12 Noon. As more details become available we post on our web site or you can call the Democratic Headquarters at (361) 882-8478 for more info.

Clinton, who is running for president, is running to the state that may make or break candidates vying for their party's nomination.

Anytime a politician of Clinton's national status visits South Texas, it's cause for excitement -- good or bad.

I confirmed her tentatively scheduled appearance on the Web site for the Nueces County Democrats.

A story published online Monday at the Web site of the Corpus Christi-Caller Times, though, notes, "Clinton campaign spokeswoman Adrienne Elrod emphasized that the campaign has not picked a location or a time for the visit here."

Be sure to check back for updates as I learn concrete details.

I talked to local Democratic leaders on Monday who are excited about Clinton's scheduled visit, and the position Texas is in heading into the March primary. Stephen Jabbour, the Democratic party chairman, said he will be in Corpus Christi on Wednesday if his schedule allows.

    Good info, Toni. Thanks. Are you going to any of the rallies? Is anyone else going. If so, please let me know. As you mention, I, too, think it'd make a good story.

    Just a quick note: Ron Paul has had 2 rallies in the past weeks, one drawing over 5000 people in Lake Jackson.
    Ron Paul will be at  the Main Mall at UT Texas in Austin.
    Here is the info:
    Rep. Ron Paul will be in Austin on February 23rd, 2008 at 4:00 pm at the University of Texas Main Mall.

    Noted Rocker and Ron Paul supporter Jimmy Vaughan will start the show. Representative Paul will be speaking at 5:00 PM
    The estimated crowd is already over 10,000. If anyone is going to this from Victoria, it may be worth writing about as well.

    Unable to make the Wednesday rally but I certainly wish I could.
    I understand Obama & Hillary will have a debate in Austin.....I am looking for a week-end rally to attend.
    I attended the 1992  Bill Clinton rally in Houston...ears are still ringing from the loud enthusiasm of the crowd.
