Saturday is the last day to vote for the Crossroads’ most powerful, a look at the region’s most influential residents.

The Advocate wishes to analyze these movers and shakers to learn who wields power here.

Once votes are counted and the list is dwindled to 10, we’ll publish in-depth profiles about each person – beginning with the 10th Most Powerful and working backward to No. 1.

These profiles will publish beginning in April.

Already, hundreds of Crossroads residents have voted. Those who have not voted have until Saturday at midnight to do so.

To be considered powerful – defined as having great authority or influence – candidates must simply get things done in the Crossroads. You decide who fits that description.

Candidates must live in Victoria, Jackson, Lavaca, DeWitt, Goliad, Refugio, Calhoun, Wharton or Matagorda counties. And they must be alive.

Send us a list of the five Crossroads residents you believe to be the most powerful – or vote in our survey. You remain anonymous.

To submit your five candidates:

* E-mail power@vicad.com. Please type “Most Powerful” in the subject line.

* Contact Public Service Editor Gabe Semenza at 361-580-6519 or the newsroom at 574-1222.

* Post your list of five in here.
