That Victoria lacks zoning is not breaking news. The story I'm working on, though, attempts to document this reality, and to ask: Should Victoria become zoned? What are the benefits and pitfalls if the city were to move to zoning?

I studied Sugarland to understand a city that is zoned. You can't compare Sugarland to Victoria, however, for many reasons. It's interesting to learn about the effects of zoning on a city.

I hope you can help me:

1) Note examples within Victoria where a lack of zoning becomes obvious.

2) Locate residents, willing to talk on the record for my story, who offer opinions for and against zoning.

You can contact me in here, at gsemenza@vicad.com and 361-580-6519. Thanks for your input,

  • I deleted the posts because they had nothing to do with the blog. Those sort of posts launch a meaningless string of comments unrelated to the topic or to the two simple questions I asked:

    1) Note examples within Victoria where a lack of zoning becomes obvious.

    2) Locate residents, willing to talk on the record for my story, who offer opinions for and against zoning.

I hope we can stick to the topic at hand.

    Thanks -- Gabe
