It’s that time again for another installment of “My Reporter Notebook”. Here’s a snapshot of a few stories I am working on over the next week or so:
Slug: gp_Ethnic Foods Summary: With the growing minority populations around Victoria, I will investigate whether the demand for ethnic food has also grown. I will also look into whether restaurants have had to “Americanize” food in order to attract people of other cultures.
Slug: gp_Lawsuit Summary: A local business had sued another one for copyright infringement of their business name. I’ll be looking into the details of this legal battle including a recently reached plea agreement between the parties involved.
Slug: gp_Huizache Summary: In November, Centro Victoria released its first literary magazine, an anthology of poems, fiction and creative non-fiction stories by minority writers from throughout the United States. So far, the book has received rave reviews from literary critics.
Slug: gp_World Aids Day Summary: In recognition of Worlds Aids Day, we will be looking into a local HIV testing event as well as local stats about the disease.
I have three other stories in the developmental stages, for which I need your help to get the ball rolling ! I need the following sources:
- Crossroads residents who have been forced to move in with a relative because of the tough economy.
- Crossroads residents who have had trouble finding a job because you did not speak English or Spanish
- Crossroads residents who continue to have concerns about Islamic extremism
If this describes you or someone you know, please contact me ASAP !!!! This would be a great help !
Also as always, if you have any story ideas RELATED TO DIVERSITY AND/OR COURTS, please feel free to pass them along. I can be reached via email at email@example.com or via phone at 361-580-6521. Thanks.
