Did your university have a dress code?

According to the Associated Press, the Board of Trustees of one of my alma maters, Florida A&M University, just passed a mandatory campus dress code.

Florida A&M (FAMU) students who show up to class barefoot or wearing pajamas and cutoff t-shirts could soon be asked to leave, according to the article.

Other types of clothing that are listed as inappropriate for classrooms include do-rags, hoods or saggy pants that show off a person's underwear.

FAMU trustees on Thursday approved new dress standards that allow professors to deny students admission to class or other functions if the students are dressed inappropriately.

Trustees reportedly say the university is making the move to help teach students learn what type of attire will help them professionally and socially.

Other universities already have dress codes in place.

Do you think students have a right to wear what they want to wear on campus since they are paying tuition?
