Today's issue of The Victoria Advocate has an article about the events at this year's jazz festival.
Check it out, all the hip cats will be there (save me from the feline jokes, please), so be there or be square.

Three hot days of cool jazz
Music will be wafting through the air Thursday when the Jazz It Up! festival teams with the Victoria Symphony for an outdoor musical showcase.
Thursday's Downtown Rhythms performance by the symphony will be followed by a series of jazz shows that will mark the beginning of three days filled with music.
"It's a music lover's dream," said Jonathan Anderson, the entertainment chairman for the Victoria Fine Arts Association that will host the festival. "Not to mention, it's absolutely free."
Jazz bands will begin playing at other venues throughout downtown Victoria at 6 p.m. for the Jazz It Up festival with the theme "Jazz Texas Style." Anderson said the festival this year will pinpoint Texas jazz musicians.
"We're trying to build an event that obviously has the entertainment, but also build an outdoor festival flair where there's lots of things for people to do," Anderson said.
Visitors to the outdoor performances Thursday night are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. A portion of Main and Constitution streets will be blocked to through traffic. Concessions and vendors will also be at the festival.
