This is a photo of Richard Dean Anderson, better known as TV's MacGyver. This photo has nothing to do with my blog.

While browsing through the blog Techie Diva's Guide to Gadgets, an entry caught my attention. It was about the amount of money men and women spent on gadgets in the year 2005.

The entry cited an article from CNET.com which said:

"Out of $107.2 billion spent on consumer-electronics technology in 2005, men accounted for 54 percent, or $57.9 billion worth, of those purchases, and women took care of 46 percent, or $49.3 billion, according to market research firm The NPD Group. That's an 18 percent increase in spending by females compared with the previous year, when women rang up $41.9 billion in gadget purchases. Men spent about the same amount in 2004 as they did in 2005."

So with that said, what gadgets do you carry around with you?

Here is what I usually carry around with me:

  • Motorola cell phone

  • Motorola two way pager

  • Apple iPod

  • Nintendo DS Lite

  • 1 gig USB flash drive

  • My list contains nothing fancy really (minus the iPod and DS Lite which I don't always carry), so all you potential muggers can just keep walking, haha!
