Blogs » Digital Babble » Get your toes ready for spring

This post is dedicated primarily to the ladies, but the gentlemen can also benefit from this information as well.

Spring has arrived and that means the days of sandals, flip flops and bare legs are upon us.

Although I am not able to wear open-toe footwear to work, (Never know when I might drop a 50-lb computer monitor on my feet. Yeah, it's almost happened.) I do enjoy wearing sandals or flip flops after hours.

I'm horrible when it comes to applying any kind of nail polish to my hands or feet. I'm really bad at it, seriously, my toes look like a poor man's Jackson Pollock painting.

So that is when the Woodhouse Day Spa (WH) in Victoria comes to my rescue. Not only that, but the entire experience of getting a pedicure is relaxing and a perfect way to end a stressful week. The standard pedicure package includes a foot massage, cuticle conditioning, foot exfoliation and nail polish, all in a calm, soothing environment.

I've been a customer at the Woodhouse Day Spa for a few years now, and I've never had a bad experience with any of the services they provide. The nail salon area at the spa is not engulfed with the overpowering smell of polish and acetone and the staff is always kind and professional, unlike other nail salon/spas I've visited in Victoria. Some places seem to miss the mark and not realize that treating a customer with respect and kindness creates a loyal customer. Not to mention that having your cuticles cut and your feet scrubbed down does not always make for a pleasurable experience, but the folks at the Woodhouse Day Spa are right on target when it comes to caring for their customers.

I have found a place I can sit back, relax, and have a nice cup of tea while my feet are scrubbed, massaged and painted to perfection.

The clientele at the Woodhouse Day Spa is not strictly for females, so if any gentlemen want to set up an appointment for a couple's mani/pedi session with your spouse, those are available too.

For a listing of prices on pedicures, here is a list of their services. The prices may be more than some may pay at the other nail salons in town (although I think the prices at the WH are very fair), but believe me, the entire experience is well worth it, especially if you have had a stressful week.

When the weather starts warming up I tend to get a pedicure once a month or every other month depending on how my feet look. (I'm on my feet a lot so I splurge a little and consider it a gift to myself.) I know several people that get their nails done for special occasions such as weddings or parties, so that may be a good time to go. The manicures at the Woodhouse Day Spa are also great, although I get those only on special occasions since my nails tend to get chipped a lot on the job, and I don't see a reason to get a manicure done every week. Opening up a computer case and replacing memory modules or swapping harddrives can really mess up a girl's nails.

If you know of someone who deserves a day of primping and pampering, you can always buy them a gift card for the Woodhouse Day Spa, their tired feet will thank you!

Oh, and I'm not getting paid for this review nor am I on the payroll at this establishment. I just really like the place, and am grateful for my pretty nails I just got done this weekend. Thanks Woodhouse Day Spa!
