Back in March I briefly wrote about Twitter, the social networking and micro-blogging site where users post updates, also known as "tweets."

The popularity of Twitter grew after it was featured at South by Southwest in March of 2007. Since then Twitter has gained momentum, especially as a source of breaking news.

I'll be writing more about Twitter for a column to be featured in the Victoria Advocate. In the meantime, for those of you who want to get a taste of Twitter, here is a link to Twitter Search (formerly Summize). You can search other tweets as they are posted.

Right now you will find a lot of activity on Twitter for Edouard.

Last month Victoria Advocate reporter and blogger Brandon Leonard also posted an entry about Twitter.

If you are a new user on Twitter, be sure to check out the Twitter primer written by Omar L. Gallaga, technology culture writer for the Austin American-Statesman.
