VBB - Not that many, but you still seem them now and then, check writers.
I just thought of another "gadget" that I don't use. An alarm clock. I just set the alarm on my cell phone. Not that it helps me wake up any faster, or anything like that.
People still write checks? I haven't written a check at a store in years!
Chris - Never thought of that, must be why I haven't worn my Swatch watch in years.
bighorn - I also have many pet peeves about cell phone use. One is when I'm in a checkout line and the person paying at the register is on their cell phone, ignoring the cashier, or trying to write a check and talk on the phone at the same time, all while holding up the line.
And never mind the skills lost since the popularity of cell phones. Such as ...The Ability to dirve an automobile without such a device stuck to one's face. The Ability to speak quietly in public places. The Ability to walk into a public place without stopping in the doorway and blocking the entry/exit of other patrons. The Ability to walk with purpose in public places without mindlessly wandering in a mad cirlce while aimlessly searching for the unknown. The Ability to make decisions without consulting verbally with others. The Ability to.......oh, never mind.....
What I find fascinating is that most younger people don't wear watches. I bet watchmakers never saw cell phones coming. Who would have predicted that phones would replace watches?
