Twitter: Are you on it?

The last few weeks I've noticed we have had more users from Victoria on Twitter. I think that is great, and I always look forward to seeing locals on Twitter.

For the longest time since I have been on Twitter (since 2007), there have not been many users on from Victoria. Now as more are using Twitter, I've also had more people asking me what it is and how to use it.

Here is a quick rundown of some quick Twitter tips for all you tweeps (say that five times fast!):

*To create a reply to someone on Twitter, place the @ sign in front of their Twitter name. If it is a reply, the @ sign must be the first character of the tweet. To see replies to your own tweets, click on @Replies from your profile page on Twitter. [Source: PC Mag.com]

*With Twitter's direct-messaging (DM) function, you can send a private 140-character message to another user. You can only direct message Twitter users that are following you. [Source: PC Mag.com]

*Find people on Twitter using Twitter's people search.

*Use Twitter search to find what others are talking about on Twitter. Search by topic, phrase, or use Advanced search for more options. Twitter search

*Use desktop applications such as Twhirl or TweetDeckto keep up with all your tweets. I use TweetDeck and like it.

    N4796V- If you click on their username, it will take you to their profile and there you will see the option on the right-hand side, click on "Contact" and that will send a private message.

    Hey CJ, this is off topic but I have a question....I posted a pic last night on the what used to be "seen on the scene" pics & it didn't show up. Are y'all picking them to show up or are they randomly appearing or did I do something wrong? Thanks!
