Image This evening the Twitter community will gather in an effort to support a global cause. 'Twestivals' are planned for more than 200 cities around the world. The Twestivals are organized by volunteers and 100 percent of the money raised from these events will go directly to support Charity Water, a nonprofit devoted to bringing clean drinking water to developing countries.

"Twestival was born out of the idea that if cities were able to collaborate on an international scale, but working from a local level, it could have a spectacular impact." - Twestival.com
In addition to attending a Twestival, people can also participate by uploading or buying music at Twestival.fm, purchasing items on the Twestival page or in the eBay auction. The Twestivals will also have live and pre-recorded video available online. For more information check out Twestival.com or follow @twestival for updates on Twitter.

In Texas Twestivals are planned for Austin, College Station, Dallas and Houston.
