I've returned and am trying to get back to my regular routine at home and work. It isn't easy. But from what I read online, the best way to recover from post travel depression (PTD) is to share experiences from your vacation with others. (I also try thinking of the nice cooler weather in Germany - highs in the 50's!)

As promised here are a few photos from Germany. I promise to have a more detailed blog soon, but for now, it's back to work for me. Enjoy the photos!

This is in the downtown area of Frankfurt. Bikes and motor scooters could be seen all over the city.

Römer square in Frankfurt. You can barely see, but on the right there is a man dressed up and standing still like a statue. He freaked me out when he winked at me, so I didn't go up any closer to take a picture.

A huge sculpture in Frankfurt, meant to represent the working men and women of the country.

Apfelwein (apple wine) is very popular in Frankfurt, so OF COURSE I had to try it. The flavor was fresh, but a little bitter. They say the more you drink, the better it tastes. (I only had one glass.)

One of my favorite parts of my vacation, a cruise along the Rhine River. Here is my view from the boat.

I'm still going through the many photos I took (over 1,000), along with short video clips I recorded with my digital camera and Flip Mino HD cam.

Auf wiedersehen!

  • Rusty, haha. You are funny.

Actually everyone we met and saw was very pleasant, so I didn't have to drink up to make them look better. I'm not much of a drinker anyway, I only tasted the apple wine and some German beer, just to say I did it. I drank Fanta most of the time I was there!

  • C.J. Maybe after several glasses of that wine some people start to LOOK better. Was that Mickey Gilley's line, "The girls all look better at closin' time"?
