If you had problems accessing 3G data services on your iPhone or iPad this morning, you were not alone.

I noticed I couldn't access data on my iPhone this morning. Didn't think much of it until I saw various tweets mentioning others were having similar issues.

Over on Dwight Silverman's TechBlog(Houston Chronicle), AT&T rep Mike Barger said the outage began at 6:45 this morning and lasted about 2.5 hours.

Source: Dwight Silverman - TechBlog AT&T wireless customers are reporting via Twitter, Facebook and AT&T forum posts that 3G data service in Houston and other Texas cities is down. Customers are seeing the 3G indicator icon on their phones, but can't connect to the Internet for e-mail, Web pages or app use. Voice calls and text appear to be working. Postings on AT&T's Facebook wall and customer forums (registration required) also show problems in San Antonio and Denver.

Another item I noticed when reading about this outage, seems that only customers using iPhones and iPads were affected.

Barger said the outage affects Houston, San Antonio and Austin customers, and involves equipment that handles the passing of data to Apple products. Users of other types of data-capable phones are not affected.

If you are still having issues with 3G data service on your iPhone or iPad, it is recommended you restart the device.
