Only some 300 days after it was originally announced, the white iPhone 4 will be available for sale tomorrow.
The iPhone 4 was launched in June of 2010. Apple then announced that shipment of the white iPhones would be delayed until July, due to production issues. Seems like the manufacturing of white iPhones was more complicated, or something like that. Then came another statement from Apple that production was pushed even further back, until late 2010. Well that time came and went, so Apple finally announced that the white iPhone would be ready by late Spring.
And here we are now.
"The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it's beautiful," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. "We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we've worked to get every detail right." [Source: Gizmodo.com]
The white iPhone will be available to both AT&T and Verizon Wireless customers in the U.S. You can also purchase the device at Apple's retail stores, their online store and authorized resellers. This model of the iPhone is the first to be fully wrapped in white. [Source: Cnet.com]

ChrisCobler...I understand why the iPhone needs to know where you are so that it can tell you how to get to where you want to go. What I don't understand and haven't seen an explanation for is the MAINTAINING of the data and subsequent transmitting to Apple to be stored in THEIR database for long periods. That part is, in my opinion, indefensable.

April 27, 2011 at 1:26 p.m.Well, when the iPhone 4 was launched I did say I'd wait for the white iPhone. And I waited. And waited. So now here I am, still using my old iPhone 3G...which is very slow, but still in good condition.
It's time for an upgrade, but not sure if I should wait until the next generation of the iPhone, rumored to be released in September or just get the iPhone 4 now. Decisions, decisions.
