For those of you who can't get enough of the Angry Birds game on your mobile device, today is your day. The game is now available to play on the Chrome web browser.

Today at the Google I/O developer conference, Peter Vesterbacka, head of Rovio and developer of the game, demonstrated Angry Birds played in the Google Chrome browser. Vesterbacka said Rovio liked Chrome in particular for the browser-based version of the game. [Source:]

"We didn't want to compromise on performance," he said. "We haven't been able to bring this to the Web. It hasn't been possible until today. We are bringing Angry Birds to the biggest platform out there, the Web."

Rovio will offer the game in the Chrome Web Store. Reports indicate that the game will be accessible in other browsers as well, but if you get the game in the Chrome Web Store you have access to the Mighty Eagle in-app purchase. The Chrome version of the game will feature Chrome graphics for blocks and bombs.

Once the application is installed in a Chrome browser, the game can be played even if a computer is not connected to the Internet.

The game can be downloaded in the Chrome Web Store.

The free version of Angry Birds features the game's first level, Poached Eggs, along with a set of exclusive Chrome-themed levels. [Source:]

I just installed the game and have come to the conclusion that I probably won't get much work done today. So much for work productivity!
