Show Love on Valentine’s Day by Donating Life

Express your love a different way this Valentine’s Day by donating life. Valentine’s Day marks the second anniversary of Buster Foster’s release from the hospital after he received not one, but two liver transplants and 68 pints of blood to sustain him during treatment. He now wears a wristband that proudly says, “Life: live it then give it” in honor of his journey to recovery made possible by organ and blood donors.

Here are three ways to show your love:

• Visit your local STBTC Donor Room or stop by one of our bloodmobiles to donate blood. Donating one pint of blood can save as many as three lives. Click here to see a list of mobile drives.

• Visit www.donatelifetexas.org and register to become an organ, tissue and cornea donor. Donating your organs can save as many as eight lives and donating tissue can enhance the lives of more than 50 people.

• Visit www.bethematch.org to register to be a marrow donor. Registering makes you available to any patient for whom you may be a lifesaving match.
