Everywhere you look, talented athletes dot the landscape of the Crossroads area.

In football alone, we’re blessed with kids doing awesome feats on the field: From OJ Hughes at Memorial to Kam Jones in Edna to Tyler Arndt in Cuero to Trey Hights in Yoakum to Kevin Daniels at St. Joseph. Those names are just a few of the many dedicated athletes who leave their hearts and souls on the playing field.

The Advocate’s new sports web site, Advosports, wants to highlight those deserving athletes. With that in mind, we're looking for feedback on our new sports site, AdvoSports

This is a soft launch, meaning it's still in the working stages. Right now, since it's football season, football is all that's highlighted. Basketball will follow closely behind. But you can get an idea how all sports will look through the football section.

You can see team pages, player pages, among others, and people can become fans of certain schools.

As fans, you can upload photos, video and news. And you can also write blogs.

Our end goal is for this site to be the best, most comprehensive site for local sports out there. In order for that to happen, we need your help -- give us your feedback.

This is a work in progress, but we have ambitious goals in that we would like this to be a fully functional site by fall season of 2010.

Thanks, Thomas Martinez
