Riverboat, I couldn't have said it better myself. I too was at the ceremony and where my family and I were sitting there must have been at least a dozen or more with the airhorns. The real kicker to this situation was a guy saying f#$% Iraq right after the Pledge of Allegiance had been said and then acting as if he hadn't meant it. Bad behavior all around.
Riverboat. You and many more before you have experienced the same idiotic behavior at this annual event.
Several years ago I went to a Memorial HS graduation and basically left with the opinion we have way too many selfish, self centered, ignorant, and disobedient adults in our society to allow an event like graduation ceremony to be fun to attend anymore.
If you would have been sitting in the stands you would have heard people talking to each other, yelling at one another, talking loudly on their joined at the hip cell phone, etc... while some well deserved honor student is giving their speech and others in the stands can hardly hear what their saying.
This is a glimpse of the real world we live in today.
Youve got to be kidding!?! Nobody stopped the ceremony to admonish the blowers? The offenders should have been (easily) located & tossed out....how rude, not to mention annoying!
More proof, not that any was needed, of the slow and continuing degradation of common courtesy in our society.
Loud horns save lives!!!
