Recently, the Victoria County Sheriff's Department has been blacking out the age and some dates of birth on reports. I called Sheriff T. Michael O'Connor this afternoon to ask why.

He said the birthdays should have been crossed out in the past, to prevent identity theft. Just like social security numbers.

I'll buy that, but I'm going to double check. (I'll update)

Crossing out ages is a mistake, though, and he said he'd look into that. The sheriff gets bonus points for being friendly and helpful when dealing with my request.
